Oh man... you are so right. Only 17.1 barrels for that I4. And wow, I didn't notice that you can "personalize" your annual miles... I'm gonna feel so self-righteous I may not be able to stand myself... My Annual Carbon Footprint is only 4.9 and my barrels a mere 9.0.

Hahahaha..that's funny. But seriously...no biggie. We're all 4Runner owners here, not Prius guys. Well, not all of us, but most of us.

Some people may be bothered by the lack of the V8 (doesn't matter at all to me though), but what really sucks is the fact that you'd have to step up to the Limited to get the center differential that was standard issue on ALL 4th gens. Stuff like the deletion of LED tails and projector lights, or in-glass antenna are just little things that shouldn't really bother anybody. But engines and 4wd systems are major components that can make or break a deal for most people. Going back to the part-time 4wd system without the center diff would be an absolute deal breaker for me. I'd hate to have to spend the extra money on the Limited, especially when I'd be stuck with those goofy looking big wheels!

Actually, I prefer the part time and the lever shift. I had a Jeep Commander with full-time 4wd. To select low range, there was a little switch on the center console. It was very unreliable. I also used to own an Expedition, which was also finicky going into and out of 4wd.

With the lever, there is no question about which mode you're in. It goes in every time and feels like precision machinery when it does.

So, My 97 is a 3rd gen? I have to say they styling seems to be timeless unlike the few models that followed. The 5th gen is the first one I've really liked the looks of in awhile.

My name is webby and in the spirit of this thread and in the name of reducing my family's carbon footprint and saving the frigging planet, I have been inspired by this discussion to drive our vehicle into the nearest lake immediately which will give the nice fishies a place to hang.

No doubt I also should consider ceasing breathing in the name of my further reduction of carbon footprint, but that's a rather large step, so pardon me, but I will have to contemplate that for awhile.

Been surfing here in Hawaii for the past 2 weeks, had a chili plate lunch today.

My carbon footprint has been huge after lunch been blasting them off left and right , thank Jeebus for the trade winds :roadkill:

And F the tree huggers in a planet this size the actions of a few gearheads won't matter much.

Besides since cows emit more methane they are the devil, so I took one for the team and had a rib eye for dinner last night.

If everyone lived by that mindset, we'd all be in trouble. Thankfully, there are people out there who educate themselves and realize that small contributions add up for the bigger overall picture. Lead by example....you don't have to be a "tree hugger" to do so.
