So yesterday, I am getting ready to leave the office and my Camry wouldn't start.

I had an inclination it was the starter and after some research and digging on this forum, I confirmed it was the starter.

I PM'd Bobby and he suggested I smack the starter with a hammer to see if it would start.

I had my doubts, considering I know nothing about cars. By the time the wife came to pick me up I had gotten a hold of a wrench.

I had her turn the ignition and I smacked that btch silly (the starter not the wife) lol and it sprung back to life!!

I got to take it home and will try to work on it this weekend.

:trophy: Thanks DUCMONSTA!!!! :trophy:

Duc, I guess you didn't tell him about the service call charges yet...wait til you get the bill Danny lol.

The alternator is the only real painful thing to work on in the Camry engine, and that's just because of the placement. You should be finnnnnneeeeee (famous last words).

The technical term for that is a percussive adjustment. I use it for most problems; my wife uses it exclusively for problems with me (which is why we seldom have problems).

Not so good for problems with paint or your prostate (hard to get leverage on the hammer in such tight confines).
