I just watched [MENTION=66316]1engineer[/MENTION] lock two threads that were clearly headed in the wrong direction within moments of things getting ugly....At 7:30pm....On a Saturday night. While I understand that some people might feel actions like this infringe on their right to say or ask whatever the hell they want, the presence of moderators vastly improves the quality of this forum. I wanted to say thanks to the moderator(s) for stonewalling trolls, neutralizing fights, and guiding the research of newcomers and others looking for help. Cheers [emoji482] and thanks for not letting this forum devolve into chaos!

contrary to popular belief, these are privately owned forums, so "freedom of speech" is not really true. it comes down to the mods making the right calls, seems like they do a great job on here.

As far as I understand the rules this forum to discuss things 4Runner and some related subjects. As for trolls, angry jerks and idiots there are other forums such as this one: https://www.theidiotboard.com/
and moderators should keep this whole thing family and kids friendly in my opinion.

Disagree. This thread was prompted by a couple unnecessary 5th Gen threads, handled very promptly by our 5th Gen -mod-. If anything, it is very 'on topic'.

I'm strangely addicted to this band of misfits. I appreciate somebody putting out the occasional dumpster fire.

I would like to add that users should also visit more parts of the forum instead of 3 or 4 threads. It gains a little perspective, for example lurk around the 3rd gen forum for a little while or general discussion.

You don't see these types of issues in others part of the board.

It's got absolutely nothing to do with 5th Gen T4Rs and everything to do with unruly forum members. Hence, OT. It'll get there eventually as soon as 1E sobers up today, I'm sure. =)

The problem children is not relegated to the 5th gen, it usually involves new members somehow. The 5th gen has the most new members. When the 6th gen drops the problems will be transferred there. Not always new guys but the vast majority invloves them.

Thanks again for the support, and no, while I had some beverages last night, I was in the woods at 7am riding my mountain bike on some of the harshest terrain I have ever ridden. I AVERAGED only 4.3 mph and rode 10 miles. That's half speed of my normal ride. It was nothing but rocks and roots with zero flow. My arms hurt, my wrists feel broken and my ankles and knees are not moving very well. No wrecks though and my face didn't hit the bar, although it was close a few times. Geez what a nasty ride. Never ever going back to those trails. Should have known when a trail is named "Creek Bed" that it wasn't going to be easy. My riding buddy has a new carbon Top Fuel 9.8 and it wasn't any better for him as it was with my hard tail Stache with 29+ 3" tires at 12 psi.
