I know most of you guys that live in or near big cities don't think twice about traffic or conditions. For me though, driving in a big city is like you guys coming down and driving in the mountains and woods on trails. To me, I am much more comfortable in the woods than I am on a beltway around a major city during rush hour! With that said, following Brockeverly's lead, I contacted Ducmonsta and Antman yesterday before starting a trip to Washington, DC to see a game last night. I did not need them for anything but just knowing (and havng their phone numbers) that help was just a phone call away gave me one less worry. So, thanks again guys! I would recommend this to anyone travelling, either street or off road, to contact beforehand one of the members located near your destination that could help if needed.

Good point. The wifey and I like to go to Chicago now and then. Driving there gives me the whim-whams, so it's AMTRAK now.

I'll be leaving for Chicago on June 18th for a week with my wife and daughter. Plan on driving up, looking forward to a road trip.

I am always more comfortable in the woods too, but unfortunately a lot of my driving has to be in the SF bay area traffic. So I have gotten used to it.

I have been rear ended twice in the last ten years, both times in fairly slow stop and go traffic. The last time I was hit the trailer hitch on my Grand Cherokee took all the force and it did no damage to my vehicle but tore up the front of the other guy's car.

I've been in Washigton DC but before contact numbers ideas was brought in. Besides I've seen only one 5th gen 4Runner on my way there and back.

So If anyone going to Greater Toronto Area could give a PM for phone number too. I have next to zero mechanical skills though but would be happy to help if I can. Oh and I'm heading to MA tonight for a couple of days so if anybody around Southborough MA needs some asisstance I might be able to make a recovery side trip : )

That's weird because there are TONS of us in the DC metro area. I'd wager that there's a higher concentration of DC metro folks on this forum than any other geographic area in the US.
