so this is not about a 4runner, its my sons 2016 taco. ( hey its a toyota) it is well taken care of , not abused.. At 57k miles it developed a knock. it was so bad one day he swung into dealer..long story short and after the service advisor made some calls.... well....they are putting in a new long block under warranty.....yahoo.
btw...it has a 60k warranty on powertrain.....but they balked saying since we did not have prof of oil changes and care......they did all oil changes for first 36k.....then we showed receipts for oil and filters for the past years...using toyota filters and synthetic oil ....then they called back a day later and said.....we will cover..
guess holding receipts is a good thing.
