Hey, it's better than another lift, tires, or oil thread, eh? A nice respite anyway.

Actually, not too many oil threads like the two motorcycle-related forums I poke around in on occasion (actually seats, handlebars, oil...repeat).

Great to learn there are others here with as 'unique' a sense of humor with I am cursed!

I carried out your instructions, precisely (no improv).
Ran into a "SMALL" hitch though. Wearing my "neon yellow vinyl jumpers", I approched old Ms Bromley (who's breath could turn tires, back to petroluem), the recieptionist.

I leaned down to her, holding my nose; "what with her breath and all". And then I whispered the secret password..."farkle". She looked at me strangly, and said...pardon?

I repeated myself..."farkle". She must have thought I said "fu** ya'll". That's when I noticed my neon jumpsuit top had come open, revealing my "nipplecam", just dangling from my, now elongated right nipple.

The rest, as you said, was history!!! Long story short.... "got bail money"??

i see that 2013 SR5 now has knob-style 2WD/4WD shifter, rather than shift lever.

does that mean that even SR5s now has a center differential, and that now it can be driven on the dry pavement in 4WD?

just got 2012 SR5 and i'm feeling confused!

Hi neowig,

After reading your post/question, I just took another look in the new brochure, cover to cover, and I think the "Shift Knob" that you are refering to is the display of the new "Limited"; birds eye view of sand beige leather int. from dash to cargo compartment?!

Also double checked the "options" page. Unfortunatly, the only trim pkg with the "Torsen center diff with Locking feature", is still the limited. The SR5 model has a "rear wheel drive, Automatic limited slip differential"(Auto-LSD), standard.

It also has an optional, part-time 4WD with Active traction control (A-trac); available/optional.

According to Toyota (advisory message board), the "Torsen" center locking diff system, is far too expensive for mass production, or to provide this offering to all 3 trim levels.

Therefore, they decided to offer it in "Limited" quantity, partitioning it to only one trim level; hence, the "Limited Edition"!

Forgot to address one other question. please remember that you should NEVER, drive a vehical with locking axles in "Locked" mode, on dry pavement; that goes for 4Runner Limited, Grand Cherokee, Hummer, etc....
