I hear ya... I think another 4Runner will land in the garage soon.

The X5 is excellent, and very glad I got it, but I should of kept the 4Runner too. Convincing my better half has been a challenge. (One challenge I happily take on :hatsoff

I did not.....I currently have a 10 amp and 20 amp MPPT controllers sitting on my counter in the garage...fml.

Slammed at work, building a house for my nephew, and just finished my drawers....one more thing out the way.

Rack will be next...just have to find some days off. F'in [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] is absolutely useless to me.:flame:

Very similar to my last set...but 32" long. Constructed from 1/2" Baltic Birch plywood. I have a Google Sketch Up version if you want it. Drawer slides are 150 lb. rated.

Any you old school Chevy guys may remember the under the hood light that was featured in the trucks back in the 90's...I saw one on Fleabay for 30$, so I always missed it. Now I just have to convert it to LED...it easily reaches the back of the truck, and is magnetic.



I remember that on my first truck!! That thing came in handy several times. Thanks for the idea, next time I'm at pull-a-part I'm gonna look for one. Is yours wired to be always hot even when the truck is off? I think that's how they originally were.

Thanks, man!..I think it's Laminex or some shit...when I had the fronts tinted they did it for an additional $25....can't beat that.

Remember this is for a non- sliding tray model, and is designed for a 1/2" tolerance for a drawer slides on either side of the drawer. The 4runner rug fits perfect on top.

So, using your sketchup file (thanks again!), I modified it a bit to include a 'table top' for one of the drawers. When camping, I'm always wishing I had a tailgate or some flat surface to stand by and work / cook. I bring a table now and have to unload and unfold it. Why wouldn't this work?

It's a simple removable piece that would stow in the drawer (on top of the contents of the drawer). You remove it to get stuff out of the drawer (say, your stove or cooking utensils or whatever), replace it, and then work on top of it (with the drawer out and hanging out the back).

It will work. With the details I can see, I would suggest losing 1/4" of height out of that drawer and running a 1/4 deep by 1/2" Dado around the entire lid/table top. With the supports you show if you had someone lean on one end or just had too much weight, it could flip up. With a full dado it would lock in on all sides. It will end up being the same height as the other drawer with the table on top. You could just use a full support on 4 sides too, same deal and you don't have to cut the drawer sides shorter. Just my 2 cents. Looks like a great plan!
