The 3.4L TRD Supercharger Thread

I've found another noise in my Supercharger. I'm still waiting for the bypass valve actuator so I haven't driven it yet. I decided to start it up anyway because it was sitting for week. So the noise can only be heard if I close (boost) the bypass lever by hand but if its open (no boost) no noise. I'm thinking if its a rear bearing the noise would be heard regardless of what happens to the bypass valve. I've attached a video, you can barely hear it there but you can tell the difference.

Ill make another vid where Im actually revving. It sounds like a bearing for sure only does it if you load it up though.

So anybody knows exactly what kind of bearings I need? Are they closed end or open?

I've read the rebuild write up but its not very clear on a few things. When he removes the rear bearings he beats them out of the back but I couldn't figure out where they come out from the back? I thought they had to be pulled out somehow.

I have the gen 2 black supercharger. The link still doesn't provide me with part numbers for the bearings or sizes. Interesting way of removing the bearings though. I haven't seen any holes at the back to do this though, or they have to be drilled and tapped?

No the bearing will drop into the sc casing and then the other falls out the back by the bypass valve.

The rolling performance rebuild instructions are not for the 3rd gen TRD they are for the generic m62 like found on a 3800.

Also last time I checked their they don't carry the rear bearings. I got mine from ZZP performance

Do you know if these bearings could be had from a bearing store, like a generic replacement? Or are they made specifically for the sc application?

So the part number of these bearings is INA FC65477. I'll see if I can get them from Canada Bearing tomorrow. Its just shipping will cost as much as the bearings themselves plus the tax...

Still cheaper than jonbond that ****ing joke of a rip off. They want $88 us for just those 2 bearings.

Yeah still gets pricey ordering to Canada, if I get those from zzp for $30 USD I'll end up paying like $100 CAD by the time I get them.

anyone that changed the oil on the blower snout what did you guys use if anything after when reinstalling the small plug? fipg? sealant?
