Because the reliability thing is not really true its more of a rumor spread by URD to sell their shit. They don't need a tune TRD did their job, its not ideal but it is good enough. Mine ran unturned for 90,000 miles perfectly fine.

Oh I see mine has 267k on it and I have a feeling it's been sc'ed for a long time I'm just trying to make sure I do everything to keep it running right I don't know much about these rigs especially with the supercharger I have TRD headers and exhaust as well
 
So I just finished installing a 1st gen sc on my 97 today, car starts up fine, high idles at 1500 for like 2 seconds, then stumbles and dies. I have the FPR hooked into the boost barb on the back of the sc, the small barb near the tb hooked to the tb barb, and I tee'd in the line going to the 4wd from that one. Evap goes to barb on the back of the sc, so does pcv, brake booster to the large barb on the side. I installed my own 1 way check valve only flowing TO the engine from the IAC. Anyone have any ideas where I should start troubleshooting?

Mass air flow sensor not hooked on backwards?
 
Hey guys, chasing a fuel leak demon here. I put a used 1st gen charger on my rig a couple months ago, and immediately had a strong fuel smell under load afterwards. Everything is hooked up correctly, no vacuum leaks or anything that I can tell. Replaced all the O-rings on the injectors and just replaced the main fuel line going to the fuel rail last night, and still stinks pretty bad under load.


Thoughts?
 
I'm having the same issue with mine and it looks like the main fuel line is leaking out of the crimp that holds then banjo fitting to the rubber line. See my post for pictures.

Did you follow the idea from the other thread (very specific, i know)? What all did you replace? Any of the other fittings?
 
I'm thinking about putting a GoPro under the hood to look for fuel spray. There is evidence of dried fuel on the aft most bolt on the drivers side that holds the lower intake plenum to the block. I can clean it off with degreaser and drive it hard and when I get home the residue is back.

This is what I had suspected was the problem, but replaced that line last night and still getting a strong fuel smell.

Interesting because the residue is right beneath the crimp for the banjo fitting... Wherever the leak is on mine it's definitely on the drivers side of the engine.

What I've done so far at the o rings on the injectors(which are all relatively new) and the main fuel line with the banjo fitting on the fuel rail.
