I responded to your PM before I saw this...
I work Toyota parts counter and when I use Toyota's website to check availability and whereabouts of that part number (PTR29-60031) I see several on various distribution centers (2 in LA, 1 in Baltimore, 1 in Cincinnati, 1 in Kansas City) and 11 in a massive warehouse in Ontario, California.
I think the guy at Camelback might have been heading to lunch when you came in? :bash:

Im pretty sure i have everything i need to be successful except this one little spacer.. bolt size is stated in the instructions as being M8 1.25x35mm .... i can find that no problem at a hardware store, but what i can't find is what length this little spacer is....it's not stated in the instructions. looks to be about an inch??
CAN ANYONE MEASURE THIS FOR ME ON THEIR SC?...

I use these. Work fine since the supercharger makes the engine run hot.

It's hard to measure without taking it off, but it's roughly 7/8" long. I would just stack some washers together and call it a day.

Getting ready for SC install and had it handy!
Looks like 3/4" spacer and the anodizing puts it at exactly 0.7545"

I am very pleased to announce that infamousRNR and I are the first to make a "Detailed" video installing a supercharger on a 3.4 Liter V6 Engine. I did find a few other videos, one of some dude showing him putting the supercharger onto his engine but nothing else, a time-lapse video which basically shows nothing useful and another one that actually shows you some helpful stuff but the video is only 7 minutes long and lacks the detail Sean and I like to see in video tutorials.
The job is fairly straight forward as you will see.

Teeeeeeeeeeechnically, speedy's garage has had a time lapse of the install on his channel for years... LoL
But nothing compares to your tutorials, even if there was another legitimate walkthrough available.

Yeah Bro, time lapses are cool and all but don't show you anything in any worthwhile detail. I guess I should have said the first "USEFUL" install video. But, thanks for the correction.

Hour and 20 is a LONG video for folks to watch, you might wanna chop that down to like 30 minutes and link to the full "director cut" as well. I did mine 10 years ago now I think, way back before we had good cameras and inexpensive video editing.

Well, even with the best video camera equipment in existence, a time lapse shows nothing really but they are cool to watch.
As for the length of our videos, Sean and I decided long ago we wanted to give people detailed videos with the best chance at success. If we cut this video down to 30 minutes, it wouldn't offer the detail we like to give the viewer. If somebody wants to know how to do this job, they'll be willing to watch it. Also, people can skip around in the video to find what they need help with. Nobody is holding a gun to their head saying they have to watch the whole thing.
To each his own I always say. I meant no offense to you. I was just sharing my opinion on time lapses. And, I took no offense to your comment that our video is too long. Our videos aren't for everyone and we're fine with that. Most of the comments we receive are very positive so we must be doing something right.

[MENTION=53337]SCRunner12[/MENTION] can we get this added to the front page? Very helpful. The printed instructions that come with the supercharger are fairly good but there's a few things that are tricky and assumed, like loosing belts, etc that their video shows well.

I’ve watched your videos many times. I like what you’ve done! Especially the brake caliper rebuild. I used that video to rebuild my own sequoia calipers.
So a big thank you for putting in the time, energy & effort into those.
You were def an inspiration to me with your Tutorial videos

You obviously know something about the subject of making videos. I'll give you that.
Everybody has their own style, Chris Fix, Eric the Car Guy, Engineering Explained, Ratchets and Wrenches, etc, etc. We're not them, and we're not you. We're Timmy the Toolman and Sean. Our videos are geared towards the ABSOLUTE BEGINNER. We hold people's hands and walk them through the job. Doing this takes time. An experienced mechanic or DIY doesn't need this type of detail but an inexperienced DIY mechanic will benefit from the extra detail our videos offer. We want our videos to be a one-stop-shop for people. We show you the job in detail and include things like part numbers, torque values, special tools needed, and links to helpful information like this forum thread.
Anyway, I've talked long enough. I don't need to convince anyone that our style of making videos is a good one. The feedback we're getting is overwhelmingly positive and we seem to be picking up new subscribers faster and faster so I think we're on the right track and putting out a good product. You should try watching the video. You just might like it.
