Put a new motor in it and get on down the road. You act like its a f****ing
Bugatti.
The motor is hurt not the entire truck.
The dealer gave him a new one so they didn't keep paying for it in the long run with the "ever since.." problems he may have. Yeah they lost money, put him in a new vehicle, they will slap a junk yard motor in blown up one and sell it "non-the-wiser"
I've been I tech for 20+years at dealers, independents, and now a huge fleet company. Did I ever forget oil? No, not yet. Have I scattered a brand new motor all over the shop floor? Yes. Was it my fault , yes. Did it cost me my job? No.
I'm not the best tech in the world and will never claim to be. But I'm also not the worst, or like to think I'm not.
As the saying goes...
"I have to fix my mistakes, Doctors get to bury theirs.."
If I was the OP I would continue doing business with that dealer knowing they took car of him.
Just my .02$
