The "Bagel" Mod

I was lucky enough to obtain a PDF file that gives the step by step instructions on how to perform the "Bagel" mod. Big thank you to Steve at Sonoran Steel, awesome dude, I learn something new every time I stop by.

Disclaimer: I have not done this yet, and am still debating on if the extra effort is worth it to me over the Andy Mod 2.0 (linked below)

The PDF is attached, enjoy

Never heard of this, so this is for 01-02 vsc only?

Correct, from my understanding it is the more extensive version of the Andy Mod that allows you to disable TRAC or VSC independently.

Description:
These modifications will allow you to turn VSC OFF and ON in any driving mode (2WD, 4WD, etc.) with a
flip of a switch. When you have VSC enabled, the factory function is fully restored so that entering 4WD
and locking the center diff will automatically disable the VSC.
The second part of these modifications will allow you to disable VSC and TRAC with the flip of a switch.
Unfortunately, you need to turn the key off‐on again to re‐enable them if you do this one.
The third thing you could do is the ANDY MOD, which disables VSC, TRAC and ABS. It also needs a key
off‐on to re‐enable them. I won’t cover the ANDY mod here.

That's cool but my '98 doesn't have trac. :) :thumb:

Lucky dog, haha.:fish:

This is also documented here on this forum:

I just did this on my 2001 as I think VSC can be intrusive.

I researched for sequoia

I have an 01 sequoia which has a terribly annoying VSC and Traction setup. From what my research says, you can just pull the wire/add switch on the brake master switch and it will disable.

Have not confirmed it yet.

That's another way to do it but I believe that disables ABS which some of us don't want to do.

So I was a touch confused how this worked as Relays K1-K4 activate with both switches. Pay attention to K4 and that the ECM is getting 12V when activated with the VSC/TRAC OFF switch.

Reason for wanting to understand, I want to use an arduino with a Toyota Factory Trac off momentary switch such that short click VSC On or Off, Long Press VSC/Trac Off, as nothing else in that area of the 4 runner has a multi position On-Off-On switch.
