The beauty of the 2nd Amendment

Probably not the response you expected from me, was it.

Actually, yes it was the response I expected. I knew there was no way you were naive enough to support freedoms as much as you do and support picking and choosing who gets what freedoms.

I mean that as a compliment.

Obviously everyone who supports liberty also supports gay rights, distinct separation between church and state, is disgusted by the Arizona law and is pro-choice, right?

If Gay rights = special rights, No. A gay person is no more important than a straight person. If you are referencing marriage, No again. Marriage is a religious based pairing of a man and woman. The gay life style does not fit with the religious teachings of Christianity, Islam, etc. Just because two Gays want to be married, doesn't make it acceptable. They can cohabitate, they can have civil unions but marriage is a sacred institution with specific requirements. Sorry but thats life.

Separation of church and State. LOL. Its freedom of religion. Not freedom from religion. Don't get me started on this topic. The founding fathers chose their words carefully. There is nothing ambiguous about "Freedom of Religion."

AZ? Not sure what you're talking about. Come here legally or get the F out. And pro-choice. that's a states rights issue. If you live in Utah and they abhor abortion, you can move to IL where killing black babies is an industry. That's the beauty of America. You can find a place of like minded people to form a community.

What took you so long to chime in? You and Brian must go to different grade schools. He was out early today.

You can have rights, but only if I agree with them!

Your marriage argument makes no sense. There are two main problems:

1. Marriage is governed my states and the federal government (how you are recognized tax wise lets say). It has nothing to due with churches other than in a ceremonial role.
2. Even if it did have to do with churches (it doesn't) gays could start a religion that supports male/male or female/female cohabitation. Would they not be allowed to be married under their own religious rulings? Or can religious rulings only be used for those you agree with?

They made it quite clear and the Supreme court has made it quite clear in multiple rulings. State and church have to be separated. They can work together on things, however the State cannot condone any one religion or give it special privilege.

It is so simple to dumb things down. The modern day Republican style of arguing doesn't trick anyone.

But what I was talking about was writing a law that condones racial profiling.

Just as a heads up, trying to get these little shots in really takes away from your arguments. It shows everyone how immature and angry you are. And how defeated you are...To the point that you have to personally attack Brian and myself rather than attacking our points.

Slow down tbst. You are notorious for personal snippet attacks as well. Pot, kettle, black.

As far as dumbing stuff down and simplifying things, your assertion that it's a republican argument style is absurd. Just as many democrats use that way of argument as well.

You and Brian attend different grade schools. Drcoffee, that was pretty funny.

It's clear we all have differing opinions, but isn't that what keeps us on our toes and honest to a slight degree? America is, or was to some people, truly a great place because of this. At this point, I'm man and mature enough to respect you for your opinions and theology and will simply leave it at that.

No issue with any of the things he wrote other than to hum his balls about how funny he is?

Oh, yeah. Forgot, if it were up to you people on welfare wouldn't be able to vote.

For a second I thought maybe you actually believe what you preach.

Then I snapped back.

I feel like I was clear with my points. People can make up their own mind.

:fishing:

You'll notice my comment was placed AFTER you posted, but BEFORE you further edited your response. I hate that particular aspect of this forum in specific - we can edit our own statements whenever we want. In other forums I'm member of, you have a limited amount of time in which to edit your posts.

That said, it is funny how you make a fairly strong statement, but when called to the carpet, you retract or soften the stance to be more "mainstream." I've noticed this and so have others. Stand your ground, Brian. If you feel a certain way or have a certain set of beliefs, stick to those and be unapologetic about them. After all, we're on a car forum talking about politics. :redbrick:

I'm getting to him. Slow your roll with the attacks that I referenced you being notorious for. Proving the point yet again. :lmao:

Truths are attacks on your arguments not on you.

One day you will learn you can be wrong and it isn't a personal attack.

You're correct in that gays or blacks or Mexicans or whoever deserves no more special treatment than anyone else, but your thoughts on marriage in our current society are slightly off base. Your thoughts are correct if we're talking a hundred years ago, but marriage today doesnt mean squat to a majority of people unfortunately.

With regards to religion and government, careful here because imposing your Christianity or Catholicism or Islam on anyone is oppression. I suspect you're a Christian (not based on anything really other than majority in the US), but wonder how youd think if sharia law suddenly became the rule of the land here. I suspect you'd want a separation then.

I agree with you on the abortion issue as well as in concept on the AZ law. I think tbst does also but can't agree with you or I on anything so he deflects the argument and resorts to personal attacks. (Did you see the post where he called my mother a whore?) Unfortunately they dont teach class in grade school anymore.

One day you'll realize you can try to explain to someone how or where they're wrong instead of attacking them. Or reserve yourself to "knowing" you're right and leave it at that. Especially over the Internet.

Or not - I don't give a sh1t really.

Somebody is salts they got called out on their ball humming.

LoL. You've run out of intellect and have resorted to grade school tactics (again). You still getting picked last in recess?:frisky::cry2::frisky::cry2::frisky::cry2:

Now I know I'm old. I didn't understand anything he just mummbled.

Salts? ball humming?

WTF is that?

I think that's what happens when you've got a d1ck in your mouth.

Do you actually believe what you wrote about the gay marriage issue? Do you really think that only certain groups of people that you approve of should be given the same liberties as you?

I have to respectfully disagree on marriage. Its a religious institution that is sanctioned by the state. The state does offer benefits to married people over singe people in order to strengthen the family unit but, but the state can revoke those special benefits anytime they want to and the marriage will still have merit in a religious setting. Keep in mind people marry not for the tax breaks but for the belief that they will serve a higher goal. A loftier goal of being closer to their God. Its a philisophical discussion but trust me, if the state nullified all the tax benefits of marriage, we would still marry and hold it sacred. Now that said, sure there are some or many who don't understand the core of marriage and they are the ones who now or previuosly live in sin. Out of wedlock. Words have meaning. Marriage is being twisted and contorted to fit modern society but the truth be told, marriage has been around a lot longer than America and its enlightenment. Rome started well and ended badly. But religion marched on and endures. No matter what your god, without faith and aspiration to a high being, nothing matters. Right? Look at the inner city. God is all but removed and the community is cannabilzing itself. Sure it will look ugly for a while. But in the end, the faithful will prevail. Societies rise and fall. Always have and always will.

Silencing the religious and moral is the start of the end. Impune, ridicule, show disdain, mock you adversary. That's how Hitler started. Then a false flag, bomb the capital and viola, TSA was born. ONly then it was the brown shirts. America is different. We have the constitution and it can be restored at any time. That's where my faith lives. I can only hope that SCOTUS turns this ship around. Give the states their power back. Nea, the states need to stop funding the federal government and stop taking federal funds and take back their autonomy. Liberty is freedom. The freedom to go on an airplane and not have your scrotum frisked or be run through a microwave oven for giggles. Freedom is not having to stand back as some sweaty TSA goon molestes your teenage daughter in front of you like in 1940 Germany. These are scary days. But I digress.

Unlike you, I mean what I say. Yes. Have a civil union. Let's be blunt. If the state revoked all the bennys for being married, Gay people wouldn't be so anxious to marry. Maybe they would, who knows, but the simple fact is, marriage is a creation of religion from long before any government was in place. The state just jumped on the bandwagon to be able to tax it. Its a revenue stream for the govt.

Personally, I believe the gay marriage attack is a way of destroying the fabric of America. Destroy the family and the government gets more powerful. "It takes a village."

The only problem I have with not allowing gays to marry is the fact that they do not receive the same benefits as hetero couples that do marry. I was recently married. Neither myself nor my wife have anything to do with organized religion. We weren't married in a church, didn't have a religious ceremony, and do not plan on using our marriage to get closer to any higher power. What makes this any more acceptable than a gay couple who feel the same way about one another? Whats the excuse for allowing people to marry 5, 6, or 7 times? Where does God say that is ok? You can't let some people "sin", and others not.
We love each other, and want to spend the rest of our lives together. If one of us passes, the other will receive whatever we have at that time. What makes our marriage any different than a same sex couple who share the same feeelings?
If you want to call it a civil union, go ahead...but everyone should have the same rights and benefits...straits, gays, whatever. Every person in this country should have the right to spend the rest of their lives with the person they love, pay appropriate taxes, and receive the same benefits. These days, marriage is just a word that religious groups use to make themselves feel better. Until people have to prove that they are marrying for religious reasons, marriage should be open to anyone.
