The best 3" of lift

Bilstiens are very well know
doesnt the guys that own toyota120 also own overland warehouse ? making them a little biased, just thinking outloud

Bilstein is very well known, you are right. But you are comparing one of their lowest end shocks. Check out their 9300 Black Hawk series if you want a serious shock. Also, I never said anything about Bilstein being well known or not, just the 5100 is non-rebuildable- which is 100% true.

Before I upgraded to Fox resis in the rear of my truck I ran Bilstein 5100's. I blew them out with the type of wheeling I do. I have blown a rear Fox as well (rock knicked the shaft and the chip in the shaft ripped apart the o-rings) but those were able to be rebuilt and put back on.

One of the owners of Overland Warehouse is one of the owners of Toyota120. The other owner of OW is very active on the forum as well and I have wheeled with many times. Yes of course they promote their company but if you go through those threads you will not once see a time where they said anything untrue of the other options out there or misled anyone. The Toytec kit is just a different type of kit for a different budget.

Id like to see documents stating they are custome valved for the 4runner

Did anyone ever mention if they really are custom valved for our 4Runners? I'm just curious and trying to gather enough info before I buy a complete kit. Stuck between Radflo and Icon Stage 2.

On their website they mention.... "These coilovers were specifically designed and tested by Overland Warehouse to accurately match coils, valving and weight of the truck"... Both owners of the company have built 4Runners and those are what all the testing/fine tuning was done on. Not only was the valving unique on this coilover compared to other Rad Flos, the springs also come from a different supplier.

I got to see these in their test phase before they started the company and they messed with a lot of different things to get them right.

Also, they are great guys to talk to. If you have special needs or want anything changed they will custom valve the coilover for you, it just takes a few extra weeks.

I own Overland Warehouse LLC. My name is Mark. I have no association with 120.com other than posting there as a forum user and vendor.

Not sure what you are alluding to in relation to bias. My co-owner of Overland Warehouse LLC (Andries - who does own 120.com with others) opened the thread you are referring to as an opportunioty for people to post their experiences (real world) using Overland Warehouse suspension. Not sure how its biased when its open to anyone posting. Of course we are biased towards our belief in our company. Not sure if you are simply suggesting that, or something more.

Also to make things clear - we do include a wrench (value $45.00) with our full suspension if, at the time of purchase, customers email us their forum username and order number.

Next, Andries and I spent considerable time developing a CUSTOM setup for the 4th gen 4R using the Radflo product line. We hammered our trucks over the best part of a year determining the correct specs. What is valved into our shocks is not what is available thru other suppliers. Radflo and Overland Warehouse LLC maintain an agreement that the valving and other specs remains the exclusive domain of Overland Warehouse LLC.

Finally, we do not discredit other companies. There are many fine products on the market. We believe we have done our homework to get the setup right. We are price competitive, we offer oustanding customer service from what we have been told and read, and we offer a rebuild program that, to our knowledge, is pretty unique in the market at this time.

-------

We are a small company that supplies to a niche market. Our suspension is US (CA) made as are all our recovery straps in our offroad recovery lineup. We appreciate the support of our customers in a very tight economy where compitition is fierce.

Just say'n...

-------

Watch out - we are going to be offering some new initiatives in our suspension lineup shortly.

Regards
Mark

This is great to hear Mark! You have pretty much gained another buyer. I hope to be doing business with you shortly. Hopefully your incentives sweeten the deal and are worth waiting for. Where abouts in CA are you, would it be possible to pickup the parts if youre within driving distance? Thanks!

+1 for not only OW's products, but also their service. I ordered a one off set-up from their suspension kit's and have nothing but good things to say about them. I worked with Marks colleague Andries, who was very helpful in listening to my goals and helping come up with a solution to fit my needs. As of now, I've got abut 5000 miles (on raod and off) on my set-up, and could not be happier with the ride/handling.

overland also has great customer service! i was able to order thru toyota120 when i ordered my rear springs, and brake line drop. quick shipping. only heard good things from them!

Simple question, why is it bad that the Toytecs arent rebuildable? I wouldnt want to have to take my shocks out again to rebuild them every so often. Im sure theres a good reason why, but im just curious.

Do you have a picture of your ride? Also how much money do you have n the lift alone with installation

Since we have the guys from OLW pitching in on the thread I'd like to toss them a question; How much does your 2.5" lift kit throw the caster off? I notice you don't sell any UCAs and wonder if it is simply you do not stock them or that your kits retain the factory caster fairly close that you may not need new UCA?

The 2.0 & 2.0 kit naming refers to the diameter of the shock bodies we use (we also tuned them differently as described in our vendor section).

Both kits use adjustable coilovers up front, that allows you to dial in the lift that the owner wants ( up to max 3.5" of front lift). We do not stock UCAs at this time. In our experience an alignment tech can get the caster back into spec with 2.5" of front lift. With 3" of lift this gets more challenging, and with 3.5" of front lift it really gets difficult to get the caster back with stock UCAs. This depends on each vehicle and the alignment tech as some folks got back within factory caster spec with lifts up to 3.5", however most customer have benefited from UCAs when going for 3" or more lift.

UCA? Upper Caster Angle?
