The Chinese Special TRD Grille... on the cheap!

Are those the Cartrim grille lights or the Yota's? I want to do the 3 across the same way you did but not sure how with the Cartrim ones. See above post.

Neither, those are what I call the menards special. I have $28 into my setup.

They are these lights. A couple bucks in butt splices and the add A fuse which is also available at menards.

How do the letters attach? With 2 sided tape? I notice some depressions on the plastic, only for alignment?

So two of the lights from Cartrimhome.com had only 3 of the 6 leds illuminating for some reason. I emailed them an image of the lights and they shipped me a complete lighting kit to replace them with, 4 lights and the wiring harness. Took a week from the time I notified them until the replacement arrived. Very pleased with the customer service from these guys and would recommend them to anyone else looking to change out their grill and add the marker light kit.

yup, tape is already applied. Mine hand a extra tape roll too. There's a small alignment bump on the back of them to help guide into the depressions. Best to apply the 1st and last letter, then run some tape across the bottom and top edge to use a gauge so you can line up the remaining letters a little easier. I had a little trouble with a cple, once these stick, they don't move or you rip off the tape and need to reapply.
Take your time! Do a dry run, choose the correct "O".

Another option for raptor lights

Never mind, I looked more closely at the lights from the picture they will not work in the middle row. The grill openings in the middle row are a different shape then the top and bottom rows and the lights are specifically shaped for either the top or bottom row. So it's either order different lights or use 2 or 4. I'm thinking I'll just use the 4.

Check out this post for a better option to use the exact middle slot to go 3 across. He 3D printed a holder for the 3/4 in LED light.

Plug them all into their sockets on the harness then touch the red wire to your positive battery terminal and the black wire to the negative. They will light right up.

Received mine this week. It looks awesome! While I was waiting for this to show up, I got a wild hair up my butt and ordered a Pelfreybilt Aluminum front bumper which is a full front replacement. The bumper itself was the Pro version. So I can use the TRD grille section and I am going to find a way to use the "TOYOTA" lettering. The valance where the letters are supposed to go is basically useless for me...but hey :shrug:

Got my grill in. My letters where in a torn open envelope on the bottom of the box. Many of the letters are scratched as a result. The upper grill's top two mounting points for the radiator cowl need to be drilled out because the push clips won't fit. My kit did not include extra 3m. I had to go buy a roll so I can reinstall some of the crookedly applied letters.

First seller on ebay carmodshome (same paypal account as cartrims) sent inaccurate shipping info telling me to wait 7 days for it to update as it was being shipped from china, only to find out it was on it's way back to warehouse in kentucky and not china. Apparently UPS made a mistake and returned it which I could have caught if I had the proper tracking to begin with. Instead of fixing it for 3 or 4 days went back and forth via email telling me I had to call UPS (even though I can't change a shippment I didn't directly pay for). I got fed up after the first email response and asked for a refund very clearly in each email response (which was ignored every time until I caps locked and added a bunch of exclamation points 3-4 days/responses later). I reordered with cartrims right after only to discover the paypal was the same account. I payed 7 extra the second time.

Overall experience was sub par. Took over a half a month from my first order on Feb 20th. Too bad tho because it's mostly a good product. I will only recommend it to people with a grain of salt. I guess they price it so low because they spend no money on logistics.

Hey, I have nothing to do with what Pelfrey did nor do I condone it - just know they are solid bumpers and they look bad ass.

I bought it at auction from Bay Area Metal Fab (talked to Jerry their owner multiple times). They bought all of Pelfreybilt's inventory and did a really cool thing for the community. He needed help clearing everything out of his warehouse and I got a good price on the bumper. Simple as that.

Also - the bumper came this week and is having LINE-X applied while we speak. I walked myself into a large credit card bill and a summer full of wheeling and camping :cheers:
