Nothing to add to the build, went out to the river yesterday to shoot n cook some dove, my buddy popped his tire and it came off the wheel, in sand, I had to tow him up the hill so we could change his tire. One of those days that makes ya happy you drive a 4runner hahah no pictures of the dove's sorry haha.... we were hungry



the hill was not ideal to tow him up with him just being on a rim

we got him out though none the less

I know I'm in the way here but the pic is from where he got stuck after he popped the tire I was just messing around on it after we got him out

Went back down to the Canadian river today with some of the boys, the fat kid scott you see riding shotty nabbed his first Dove no pics of that, he's currently on the grill. mostly poser shots I know, but I live in norman, oklahoma...you know, the great plains....gimme a break haha

I knew someone would say that hahaha but no you have to get back there from one side of the bridge and the 2 or 3 miles of trail is on the otherside. they barricaded it off with a bunch of boulders and dirt recently so thats why I was messing around under there haha so sketchy looking though oh right I-35 is what that bridge is

Went home lastnight for a concert back in Dallas. The ups guy had some bad timing with my mothers christmas gift, I felt really really bad but theres no mistaking a huge white box that says "weather tech" on it so she decided to let me have them early, I feel really bad but I'm stoked on my new floor matts haha

I was an idiot and didn't read thoroughly enough and tried to "get a better throttle response for free" but I have an 01 which is fly by wire which this mod will not work on. The seized bolt didn't help my learning process, I broke the threaded metal that goes through the bracket barely putting any pressure on it, I was pissed. it's dead weak and I need to focus on studying so I drove frank back to oklahoma like this and this is how she'll drive back to dallas for the break. I don't know if it'll be much help if any if I do a write up but I plan on it, I can't imagine many people having to replace this part anyway haha



The goodnews is when I get home the part will be waiting for me, along with a new headlight housing and some other surprises. This winter is going to be a big one for my baby.

Just to start...

The throttle cable runs directly from the throttle body through the firewall to the gas pedal. I'll do my best to depict where

From the engine bay through the firewall



and then in the body of the truck it comes directly through, the arrow marked 1 is where it comes through the firewall and attaches to the gas pedal. The second arrow marked 2 is the gas pedal. this is just for reference because I couldn't get a decent picture, I was standing on my head to get this one. The arrow marked 3 is the throttle cable itself the silver cylinder is the end of the cable. So when you push down on the gas pedal (2) it pulls the cable out (3) providing tension to the throttle body in the engine bay. pardon me if my mechanical language is not correct..

And second, I broke my throttle cable like you, trying to tighten up the slack lol. So I made a quick write up on the replacement of the new (used) cable. Mine is a 2000 and fully mechanical throttle cable system so mine is a little bit different then the early stages of Toyota's Drive By Wire.

2013 has been by far the worst year for ol' frank...I was driving back from a buddies house last week after the second day of snow down here oklahoma and what do yaknow my first wreck behind the wheel.

probly a combo of me just being careless and lack of experience driving in snow and ice and the fact that I had been on a busier side of campus all day and the roads were fine (I just didn't realize or even think of ice) :happens:

anyway like I said I was coming back from a buddies house a drive I make almost daily and I was pulling into my drive way and as soon as I hit the breaks I started sliding and just slid nice and slow into the tree in my front yard. It didn't help that I live on a pretty steep hill but that's probably just me trying to give myself some credit cause man do I feel stupid. At this point I'm just grateful I'm still on my parents insurance, my truck still runs, and nothing worse happened. I just have to figure out how to jimmy rig my baby up a little better to make the drive back home. on to the pictures

Such a bummer, I was so excited to go out to the Canadian river and snap some cool snow photos like everyone else since I never get to take snow pictures cause it never snows. but the good news is the truck will get a face lift, and more than likely a satoshi, the preventative measures are a surprise though

Yeah the bumper itself is what did all the damage and luckily it's all cosmetic, I already had a headlight housing in the near future cause the left side has been screwed up for a while now, just adding more to the bummerness this little incedent of mine did broke all four clips on the right side aswell, between the throttle cable and the tree, this is the roughest shape she's ever been in

it was pretty slick, we've still got like two inches of ice right now just about everywhere in norman except for the main streets which theres only like three of. I'm getting really tired of walking to campus looking like I have a stick up my ass just trying not to slip and fall. I've got two bum knees and have had more than one close call in the past week haha
