I've had my 98 4Runner for a little over a year and a half now. I belong to a few other forums and I've been following other people's build threads. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten around to making my own thread even though I've been wheeling and modifying my 4Runner since I bought it. My 4Runner is a combination of things I've made myself and other parts that I've bought - I'm poor and have a girlfriend I've done a good bit already and here is what I'm working with right now.

-2in top plate spacers
-OME 890 rear coils with factory LC rear shocks
-2in extended rear bumpstops
-rear swaybar removed
-swaped rear e-locker housing w/ 12v guy harness
-Detroit TrueTrac front

-Home made belly pan

Detroit TrueTrac will be going in the front hopefully in the next 2 weeks!!! along with; LCA bushings, struts, upper BJ's, Lower BJ's, Front brake lines and new CV's

Made templates and sent measurements off to lazer cutting to finish up my rear bumper.

I really love those sliders! They don't at all look homemade from what I can see. Nice work!

With all of these mods though, you need more pictures....! I want to see it all!

I agree^^ I love the sliders. And the bumper as well. Its plain and simple but it's original. I was thinking of doing something like this once I get the change. Do you know about how much the round stock cost for everything you needed?

the 255's have been doing great. They hook up awesome in the rocks and the slick mud here.

luckily i get pretty good deals on steel from my work, but I'd say you wouldn't be more than $100 in materials for a set of sliders and a bumper.
I used .188 HREW for the sliders and bumper, that will save you a lot of money over DOM.

here's some work from last weekend
got my pod lights mounted up
My roller fairlead was all busted up and I found a steel hawse fairlead in town for $10 so that was a nobrainer.

I used .188 HREW for the sliders and bumper, that will save you a lot of money over DOM.

Okay thanks man! Yeah DOM is nice but I would only use HREW because it's not as expensive and I can get it easily. Nice work on the build man keep it goin

Tear down for the front end rebuild and TrueTrac install will begin tomorrow.

Also ordered some bushings and 3/4 heim kits from ruffstuff to start building my upper links!

This is the bender i used Hydraulic Pipe & Tube Bender - 12 Ton

I think the benders you linked are used for bending flat stock.

Do you have any issues with it deforming the pipe any way the bends? What thickness pipe did you use? Use to work with a guy that had one of those and it bent the pipe funny in the bends, but that may have been do to him using really thin walled pipe.
I was thinking about buying some rock sliders, but after seeing your's I may buy some tools and give it a go. I've already got a welder.

There was very little deformation at the bends, unless you're right up on it looking for it you'd never notice. The dies i had where extremely tight on the tubing and i think that is one of the main reasons it didn't try to kink it. A heavier wall thickness probably helps too. I want to say it was .188 but could have been .120?
I bent exhaust tube for a friends truck and we had to pack it with playground sand to keep it from kinking.

Well got the front diff out and sent off. ill be picking that up thursday.

Now to start replacing my bushings and ball joints. yay.

anyone have any tips on how to get the LCA bushings out?
we put a bottle jack between the arm and tried to push them out and they dident budge a bit!
