The internet just told me my timing belt was changed semi-recently!

Toyota Owners - Official Toyota Owners Website If you guys have not checked it out yet, do it. I was about to order a timing belt kit and found this website. My belt was changed at Gladstone Toyota just 30k ago. I also found out about a previous owner having engine trouble 20k ago, same problems I was having (and fixed thanks to Gadget and URD).

Anyway, check it out guys. I have 35 records in my service history. (Mostly oil changes and tire rotations)

Its a pretty handy site. I registered there about a month ago after learning about it, and was hoping to see something about my timing belt on there...but sadly not. No engine bay sticker and I've got 215k on her....:bash: Owned her since christmas and i figure its time to just do it.

Yeah man, I just stumbled upon the link the other day and looked at the site for about 3 minutes. Only saw the engine problem, nothing else. Logged back in today to upload some Oil changes and was like WOAH.

I also did not have an engine bay sticker at 99k, there is a TRD badge thing where it would go.

Mine apparently has only had some loose nuts on the exhaust crossover pipe. No service.....

Where's this timing belt sticker you two are referring to?

Generally it will be located on top of the timing belt cover.

Cool Find man! I just found out that my runner came from the Windy City and it was regulary maintained on time and by the previous owner too! Good to know!

How far back do your records go on that site? I only ask because when I went to the dealership they told me their records only go back 3 or 7 years...can't remember which. The 4Runner I just entered only had records for 2008.

The earliest record of service mine has is 2007, and my Sequoia goes back to 2006 when i bought it.

All it told me was that in 2005 was that my truck had warped rotors and the steering wheel would vibrate under braking.

Very cool. I bought my 2000 4Runner with 160k on it (175k now), and the last time I was at the dealer, they couldn't tell me what that website just told me (timing belt at 99k miles), since there was no sticker. Of course they were trying to talk me into timing belt service. Glad I waited..since I only put ~5k a year on mine, I can hold out for at least another 2 years! Thanks, guys!

My earliest record is from 10/2005, when they did the 90,000 mile service. (2000 4Runner) ...not sure if they did earlier stuff or not.

Too bad it doesn't work with Canadian vehicles. I am in the US but it doesn't recognize the VIN. Toyota Canada doesn't recognize my US address. Oh well!

Yeah, mine had more than one "bulb install", too... must've been a chica.

I had a bulb "installed" because they essentially charged me the cost of the bulb. Even at about $4, it was better than taking the time to go to an Auto Parts store, get a multi pack, lose (or break) the other bulb(s) before I get to use it (them), and do the 5 minutes of work to change it myself.

Thanks for posting this! The previous owner didn't have any service history records for the vehicle. This is a great tool.

Although I wish I had known about this before I changed a timing belt and water pump that only had 40k miles on it.

I've been using that site to track all of my records from the date of purchase. It's handy if you do most of your own maintenance and its cool that the dealer records post automatically.

Sweet! Just found out the PO had the Lower Ball Joints done at 37k under recall!

One less thing for me to do.

Only thing mine said was in 2006 PO put a new battery in backwards and blew the fuses. That must have been embarassing.:bash:
