That's a great question! I had forgotten all about CK Bulbs!!! CK Bulbs have the same base, but the grounds and positive lines are in different positions. If these had been the wrong type, the ground would have shorted out the circuit and blown the fuse. I know that Chevrolet and Chrysler use 7444NA - which is a CK Bulb. However, the 4Runner does not use CK Bulbs.

Also, I can confirm that these are the correct bulbs for the 4Runner front turn signals as I used these in the video...

I put these in my new Alpharex Luxx headlights when swapping from stock. They work great.

There are resistors built into these bulbs so they look like incandescents to the dumb flasher and there’s no hyperflash. LASFIT erroneously calls them “Canbus”. Since these bulbs are driven so hard to get them so bright they will get hot with extended use, like 10 minutes or so on a hot summer day. There’s also some type of built-in thermal switch that opens up to protect the resistors in this case (they are physically small and can only dissipate so much heat even with aluminum heat sinking). When that happens you will hyperflash but when turning off the blinkers for a short time, maybe 30 seconds, the switch resets and all is well. I’ve had mine over a year and the only time I could get them to hyperflash was by leaving the emergency flashers on for about 20 minutes.

If they are switchbacks, would they also overheat from just being on for an extended period of time? Or is the white led not driven so hard?

I don’t know, but this statement is on their site for the switchbacks. It probably pertains to 4Runners also. I wouldn’t use them. It’s just for show for other drivers, who cares?

This probably has to do with the depth of the bulb in the housing for those vehicles. These bulbs are significantly taller than the incandescent bulbs... but the 4Runner has gobs of room in the housing.

I bought las fit turn signal bulbs with the built in resistors and the drivers side went dead after 1 week !! I’m glad I didn’t convert everything to las fit led. I bought for the rears and didn’t even open them and returned them.

That happens sometimes to consumer electronic parts. Unless you want to pay for X-ray inspection, post-manufacturing test, component burn-in, environmental test, temperature cycling, and post environmental test like the military does to weed out weak parts, you’re gonna occasionally get some failures.
LASFIT has a 1 year replacement guarantee. Use it.

ebay seller etradeone2007 is a Lasfit dealer, it might actually be them, has warrantied my bulbs beyond the 1 year warranty. One ebay message to them and they sent me a replacement within 3 days. On some of their sales they even accepted my lower offers.

Those switch backs looks enticing, fairly new I guess within the last year.

I just did Tail in turn for the rears from diode dynamic. They look awesome at night. Probably doing the front turn signal with headlight Revolution. No resistor needed for them.

Instead, you should lose trust in all drop-in LED *headlight* bulbs.
There’s plenty of write-ups and test results to show how bad they are. In this forum and the Tacoma forum.

Installed the bulbs this afternoon. Turn the turn signal on to test and the worked great. Buttoned everything up and then turned the truck on and realized these dont turn on as side markers. They only operate as turn signals? In the PNW we have a lot of rainy days and so I normally drive with my DRL and Side Markers on.

Anyone know if this is just an issue for me, is this common knowledge that Im missing?

I've contacted Lasfit but we'll see what they say.

On my 2018 the LASFIT front turn signal bulbs are also ON as running lights. I also have the LASFIT side market bulbs.

Those look like the bulbs for the rear turn signals.

Here’s what I got. The turn signals are amber, (not flashback white/amber). Photos in order, front turns (7443A), rear turns (7440A), front side markers, rear backup.
