The lift I want doesn't exist...would you buy it?

Front and rear springs that only provide 1" of lift and are 10-15% stiffer than stock.

Reasoning:

No pre-load on springs to achieve lift.
Moderately increased carrying capacity without sagging - maintain factory rake.
Increased stiffness up front to offset weight of skids and/or decrease nose dive during braking.
Use factory UCA's (Toyota has already proven stock UCA's can handle 1" of lift with the TRD Pro)
No rebuilding of shocks like you need to do with CO's.
Cost should be less than most other full kits.

From what I've been told, this is actually the amount of lift OME kits usually result in for vehicles in AU. Their Hilux's and Prado's come from the factory 1" higher than our 4R/Tacoma counterparts so the kits they sell only lift 1" or so in the vehicles they were actually designed for. Nobody can blame OME for selling the same kit over here in the states even though it results in 2x the lift.

Wondering if anyone else would buy these springs if they existed and pair them with some 5100 shocks or similar. I know Toytec has a relationship with Eibach and can have custom springs made. Maybe if there's enough interest they could release a set?

That is a great link. Thank you very much. I knew from my Tacoma days that Deaver can do custom leaf springs, but I didn't think to look if they did custom coils.

Maybe if a few people are interested we could lessen the cost of the set by ordering a few? Twice the cost of a normal set of coils is steep - justifiably so given the custom order - but steep nonetheless.

That was three years ago and as far as I know he was the only one from then to now to do this.

Also you are a bit misinformed if you think lifting is going to give you any relief on tire fitment. It won't.

I trust your expertise. I thought 1" up would create a little more room for the 275/70/17 than normal around the fender liner.

Bilstein 5100's up front set at .85 will give you 1" lift and still leave 1" slight rake. It is the perfect set up IMHO and cheap.

What you want exists you just have to order the parts, what you want doesn't exist in a "kit" ;): :)

You can grab an Eibach catalog and do some research, all the springs you could possible want are there, and if not they will make you custom.

My fox CO's came with 600lb springs, when I rebuild these I am tempted to order a 625 or 650. The ride was a lot less stiff, obviously, before I pre-loaded them for some lift. I prefer the way it was TBH.

Just got off the phone with Eibach.

First of all, what a pleasant customer service department they have. Extremely professional, friendly and more than willing to answer all of my questions.

According to the rep, if we can get enough interest to order 20 pairs of a spring type, the cost becomes the same as an off-the-shelf kit ($165-70/pr) or sometimes it can dip even lower into wholesale pricing.

An small added benefit would be the order would essentially be a custom mini-production run so we could choose the color and stamping of the springs.

That being said, is there any interest out there? I'm thinking that similar to how some OME springs can be used on multiple platforms we should be able to get 20 orders between all of the generation of 4Runners and Tacomas. The only potential issue I see is that I could not guarantee any lift amounts/ride comfort levels beyond what Eibach's engineers would tell me. I don't have a fleet of vehicles to use for testing.

In about a year I would be extemely interested, but I couldn't commit at this point. I want to put some more mileage on the stock suspension and run out the stock tires before suspension adjustment.

Thanks for finding the information and making the calls. I have no doubt you'll be able to find 20, as it is a great option for those who want something better than a 1" spacer but are afraid of the extra height that a 1.5" SAW or the 2" icon, Toytec or OME could give.

This would likely pair well with 5100's set at 1.75 or 6112's set at 2" as well, for a slightly lifted but more level look.

pbcolt , just as an FYI, I might repost your information or change the title of the thread to "who is interested in 1" lift springs" or something of that nature to get the bump your new info needs

I have 1.5 saw coils on my 2011 and they gave a 2" lift and never settled. They look ok with my stock size duracteac tires but I'm convinced that a 1.5 or slightly less would be perfect. I already have coil overs up front, just need to rework the rear so it's a tad lower. Pretty picky I know.

I have in the past contacted custom coil springs, I think a few on here went that way.

I would buy a set of 1" rear lift springs if they were available today...like right this minute...priced in the $165-200 range would be a no brainer for me.

I'm with you on the spring rate increase...10-15% would be perfect just like the others on the market. Eibach would really not need a taller spring, just implement the increase in spring rate and they will probably get most of the lift from the rear not settling under the factory weight.

Do it...I will buy them. I would keep them black to match the icons, bilstein fronts, OME, etc...

You should start a different thread with a list...I bet it fills up fast.

SAW coils or the rebranded Wheelers (Eibach) will give you what you want. I got 1.5" settled with SAWs and the difference between that and a 1" spacer is nill to the eye.... but noticeable under load (in a positive way)

Fine by me! Since these springs would work across 4Runner platforms in different lift capacities, I don't know if I should post in each "Gen" section or in somewhere general like "Engines/Suspension..." I know those sections don't get the same traffic as the generation specific areas.

That's interesting. You're the first person I've read to only get 1.5" from those springs. Everyone seems to get 2" of lift after settling.

That might be a good question to pm to 1engineer or one of the other moderators. I would think that another place to potentially post would be in the "group buy" section.

The new Wheeler's springs have the same spring rate as the SAW but people are seeing a lot more lift on the 5th gens with them...a solid 2.25" maybe a little more. That's too much for my taste. a 1" spring would allow people to use the 2nd clip on their Bilsteins to get about 1.75" front and not have the saggy butt.
