What a wait. May never do that again... was like 2 months which is fine for some but while I pride myself on being patient I also like to start a project and then finish it. Ordering a vehicle tests that philosophy.
Picked it up yesterday (1 mile on the odo, cool) place looked like a war zone.
My truck arrived that morning but a couple days earlier a biblical hail storm hit. Worst in recorded history in N/E Pa and hit like a nuke. Destroyed every vehicle on the lot. Blew out windows and just beat the livin' $h!t out of every vehicle on the lot and there sat my Black/Black Limited all shiney in the middle.
Impressions;
- Wow corners like a sports car.
- I actually like the wheels and tires (sorry) and that is saying something for a guy coming from EVERY rig prior having 33's-35's. Sometimes a change is nice.
- Tweek the stereo settings (15 speaker JBL) and it sounds pretty good.
- Nav and such is not intuitive at all, I guess I'll have to read the War and Peace size manual or maybe not, the set-up looks primitive compared to my Droid Google Nav
- Like the interior a lot. Sharp in Black Leather with the "Stainless" accents.
- Mounted my "On-Board" CC weapon (permit holder) Programmed the HomeLink so far. Mudflaps and all weather mats on the way.
- The "party mode" which was dramatic on my SR5 test drive weeks ago is inperceptible on the LE JBL system (oh well)
- Love the "peek-a-Boo" running boards because I HATE running boards but sometimes you need them and if so - they they are and then there they ain't.

So, looking forward to getting to know my Gen 5 after three(3) Gen 4's and two(2) FjCruisers.
Initial impressions are that this is way more comfortable than both. I like the design way better as well.

I love the stock handling and tires too (sorry all!). The handling on the limited really surprised me. Congrat on your new truck!

Any/ALL accessories at invoice which I am/will get quite a bit. I was ok with the mix-up. While it caused some undo "rethink" it offered up a choice, granted couple days apart but IMO I made the right decision.
When I got to the dealership and saw the two(2) sitting almost next to each other I was sure I made the best decision (for me) the TE did not have the KDSS and honestly, while I love the LE in black. I would have gotten the TE in MagG. I am a sucker for Black trim on a Gray rig. If I have to put up with chrome (for the time being) it looks wicked on Black.
I will now black out the front windows.
Sharp Truck. Wife still isn't talking to me, oh well.

The power running boards may be one of the coolest aspects of the truck.
I hate traditional running boards.

Congrats and welcome to the black/black Ltd club. Agree-love those running boards. Us Canucks don't get a choice...but I don't mind them. Seeing yours makes me want to repost pics of mine...;D

One suggestion...... Have that paint professionally cleaned, clayed, and SEALED. It's worth the $400-500 (any less- walk away) to do it - ESPECIALLY with black right from the get go and before winter.

Black is incredibly tough to keep looking good if you care about such things. Having it done right at the beginning helps tremendously. Then you just have to maintain. The garage helps immensely too.

It's my understanding that the party mode simply moves the output of the stereo system to the trunk door, so that while tailgating (partying) music/sport radio will play down from the open door for people at the back...

I don't think there is a dramatic change between models in the regard...

My perception was same as OP - when test driving the Entune head unit the party mode button seemed to have a big effect. However, the JBL unit not so much.

Just got the 2012 Limited black on black last week. So far I love it. Lots to learn about the navigation, H4F, H4L, L4L, VSC, A-Trac, DAC, the center differential lock.... This winter should be fun. :cheers:

I know, probably overstated that one. Coming out of an Fj this LE corners really well. Very comfortable as well.
My take on the "Black" issue, not my first Rodeo have owned many. Thing about Black is which is different than most colors is - Most other colors always look pretty good (clean or dirty) Black can look absolutely Stunning when clean so at least if one wants to they can have a mirror if they know how and spend some time (it really isn't that much work)
I went into this one having made a deal with myself, NOT obsessing. I wash it, then blow it dry (drying scratches) blowing takes no more time. I then use some spray detailer on a micro-fiber and drive it until next time.
My Black Camaro is a 2001 and looks like a mirror still.
My Rubicon was Black and I wheeled that (looked like a mirror) many more but you get the idea.
