I think it is thought-provoking. Thank you for keeping us up to date on your expereinces. But you should know better than to dare post any negative experiences on an owners' forum

Honestly, a forum is only useful if you can state the good along with the bad. Otherwise, it's just a "worship" site :bowdown:

I'm discouraged to see the bumper damage ratings. However, on the bright side, while hanging out at the body shop I found a recent Consumer Reports with safety ratings, and the 4Runner scored I think above average. At least it was above the Pilot, Explorer, and X5. So the 4Runner is the winner (among those) in the safety area.

Are you sure about those safety ratings? The Pilot, for one, has a 5 star rating for front and side crashes. I remember the 4Runner earning mostly 4 stars (which is pretty good for a truck).
