the Rescue Runner build thread

Well it was my work/SAR rig, as my job required that I be able to live remotely often for several weeks at a time... But that may be coming to and end, along with the fact that the Lexus has been in the shop now for almost 2months... Hopefully in the next day or two I will have the Lexus us back and the runner will again be sidelined, and used just for SAR/trail/recreational uses.

I think like you, that's where mine will be headed soon. A drive it when I want, weekend recreational rig. Got to keep it cross country ready. I have a 5th gen that I want to do a very mild build on, similar to your Lexus. What happened to the Lexus?

It got hit over memorial day weekend and was in the shop being repaired.

Did you get your radiator situation under control? I know you have way more equipment than me, but i noticed almost 20 degrees cooler temps with the jiggle pin at 6pm. Defys my logic, but after a new fan clutch, and complete timing service, i figured i shouldnt see 216 driving with no load. Flipped the thermo to 6pm and havent seen over 190 for longer than a minute or so (heatsoaked).

Owning and mod-ing your 4Runner is a sickness. Issac, you know that eventually you will want one bad enough to fold to our peer pressure. Might as well just do it now.

I wonder if the re-builders or manufactures would have old stock they want to get rid of? Magnuson I'm sure would want big bucks, but some place like Embree Specialty Machines might. They rebuilt, ceramic coated the rotor pack, and painted mine and did a killer job!

I'll keep my eyes open too for a good deal. So much easier to spend your money then my own.

What type of bearings did you get when you had them rebuild it?
Would you use Embree again?

It's been a while - but I'm pretty certain they used all ceramic. Heck yes I would use them again. I've got 75K on the S/C post rebuild and it is still purring like a kitten.

I have resisted taptalk for this very reason. I don't think it is necessary and it just seems like one more filter of crap to sift through. Just try to uninstall taptalk and use the classic site. That's all I ever do.

Your rig looks friggin sweet as always! Like the pink milkshake foam bath. It's like your 4runner is posing in a sexy 4runner calendar. Hahahahahaha...:naughty:

Once again I am trying to figure this out... I hope this works. Those twin led pods are the KC flex series duals. The outside one is a spread, and the inside is a spot in each pod. These things are amazing. I'm also running a spread beam single on the Lexus as well.

So some changes will be happening, it's gonna be Iconic... Rear discs are in store, new custom built sliders, some upgrades on the cooling system, as well as new wheel bearings all the way around. And some upgrades to the suspension...
