Where do you plan on running the block? Cargo area or engine bay? I am looking at running 10awg back to the cargo area to power my fridge and additional accessories.

Cargo area for the Blue Sea most likely. I like having an easy tie-in point for small accessories back there. Up front I will be running a Bussman relay setup - currently on the wait list on the TW Group Buy.

UPDATE - Nov 20, 2016

Delivered the Tundra to Montana today to its new owner. Was a super fast and seemless sale. The new owner is an awesome guys and I am very pleased to see the truck go to another offroad and automobile enthusiast.

What does this mean for the 4Runner? Well its time to start brainstorming the build and getting more serious. haha Lots of plans in the works and realistically I won't be tackling anything major until after February. The weather here is too cold and my garage isn't heated, so I'll be in "parts acquisition" mode until then.

I did manage a couple quick mods tonight though. Here's a look at the coming weeks of tinkering:

Uh oh... my wallet it starting to hurt.

Ordered the following today:
- Metal Tech rear LCA's and UCA's
- Metal Tech LT rear springs
- Icon LT rear shocks
- Rear extended lines
- MT bumpstop drop spacers
- Total Chaos LCA mount skids
- RuTech AIP module/bypass plates
- Pelfreybilt aluminum front bumper

Now need to decide on the fronts... and tire size.:biggrin2:
 
I liked your last 4th gen 4runner better. Gorgeous color. I have the same grey as you new one. Will say love how the grey always looks clean. Look forward to the build.

I agree on the color of my previous Runner, it was so nice! Id still have that truck if it was the V8 but I must credit it, as it's ultimately what solidified the 4th gen as the platform for my next build. The silver on RickRunner is nice and it does hide the scratches well, as you pointed out! Thanks for dropping in.

UPDATE

As I wait for some of my parts to show up, I have been tinkering with some of the interior items in my spare time. If you've followed my previous builds at all, you have probably heard me talk of the "small details" and IMO how they are what sets a build apart and truly makes something unique.

Taking those sentiments to heart, I wanted to get rid of the cheesy fake-granite looking trim around the HVAC controls and center console area. Some may think it "ricey" but I'm a big fan of carbon fibre. I had a roll of the 3M carbon fiber left over from a previous project and I was excited to use it in RickRunner. The cool thing about this particular product is that its not just a carbon-looking image, its actual woven plastic that gives it a carbon-fibre texture and look. You can actually feel the woven pattern if you run your hand across it. Very cool stuff, you can heat it and stretch it around corners. If you mess up, you simply peel it back and re-heat it. Very forgiving for a rookie like me. haha

Also note the Kenwood DDX393 that I picked up along with the Tyto module to run with the JBL system and also the SWI-RC module to retain steering wheel functionality. The wiring was a bit of a mess but I'm making progress on it. Everything is in and working now except the steering wheel controls. I ordered a rear camera and dash kit off of Amazon, so once those show up I will be able to get everything back together. I am quite surprised how the JBL system sounds with a digital audio input. I really don't see the need to upgrade the speakers although I might swap out the factory sub for a JL or Pioneer unit.

Just skimmed through your build threads for this and your other trucks and wow, you've got great taste! I remember seeing your Tundra on Expo and always thought it was the nicest 1st gen out there.

Your pics and vids are not helping my constant inner struggle with wanting to move out west though. :bolt:
 
Calgary 4runners stand up! NICE clean truck man. My wife and I picked up an 06 GX in Vancouver that was spotless, love cars that have never suffered a winter, although we barely get winter in Calgary anymore either LOL
 
UPDATE

We had snow on the forecast this weekend and my wife and I had yet to source a Christmas tree. A couple calls later and we had a small posse together to spend a few hours in the mountains today as we hunted for a Christmas tree. Nothing crazy but there was a solid 6-8" of fresh snow and we spent most of the day bombing up and down logging roads. It was nice to drive the stock 4Runner offroad. Gives me a good baseline and immediately highlighted a few things that I am looking forward to when the new parts show up.

Also installed a Kenwood DDX393BT Double DIN HU with the PAC SWI-RC steering control interface and the TYTO JBL interface. Rear view camera in the works as well as the bluetooth mic, and both interfaces, combined with poor instructions made it an interesting wiring endeavor. As usual, with help from the forums I was able to figure it out and am actually quite happy with the JBL factory system now that I can run Spotify to the HU. No need for a speaker upgrade. Just waiting for the Scoche dash kit to land and then I will grab a few photos of the interior.

My Scoche double-din kit did show up finally. Nice to have the stereo install finished off and all the trim back in place. Really happy with how the wrap turned out once installed too!

So many parts waiting at the border... Might make a trip next weekend to grab all of the suspension components. Fingers still cross if my wheels will show up or not in time.

Haha yah I consider myself pretty fortunate to be a member of #teamstealth. All the way back to when I won the contest here on T4R with "The Duster". It's been great working with Vin over the years on most of my builds. He's a solid dude with an eye for simple and clean designs. As always, glad to rep his products and it's always cool seeing some of my photos on his website!

Having some sent to OMF is something I've pondered for a while and the timing just worked out in my favor this time around. Super pumped to get some tires on em'!

Another one to tease... I need to find time to do a proper shoot of the wheels. Hopefully before I head to the mountains for Christmas holidays.

Realistically looking like 34's. Really liking the lower tire weight and the ability to not cut into the body. Plus when I go LT I won't have to run glass either. But we'll see.... still might do an AT that measures on the small side in a 315, like an ST Maxx or something.

How are you BTW? School going good? Hows the old 3rd Gen?
