The time has come for the front bumper shrockworks or pelfreybilt

Bit biased here, but I voted Shrockworks.

-Phenomenal build quality
-Really good powder coat
-Excellent customer service
-Absolutely worth the wait

Also, they throw awesome bonfire parties. Those boys are awesome and actually made me a cam indexing tool for my KTM one night on their CNC plasma cutter. (my buddies motorcycle shop is in the same complex)
They're seriously some really good guys.

That Pelfrybuilt does look nice though I have to say, I like that you don't have to deal with trimming out the headlights.

If you do go shrockworks, I recommend just cutting up your front bumper for the trim pieces. Looks a lot cleaner in my opinion.

This will not work with the Shrockworks unless you get it without the headlight hoops, or are prepared to hack out the center section of the grill as I unfortunately found out myself. The center hoop on the Shrockworks is too close to the OEM grill portion to work.


I preferred the cleaner look of the OEM Limited bumper to the SW filler plates, unfortunately it did not work. If you look closely at the TRD grill, the white chalk line is where the SW headlight hoops impact. That area is critical to maintain the structure of the plastic bumper, without it, the bumper will flap around. ARB and Demello owners will be able to do what I did without any issues since the headlight hoops are further out than the SW.

If you still want the TRD garnish with the SW, you'll need to trim the corners slightly. Currently running it this way.

Also voted Shrockworks. Nothing wrong with Pelfrey, just liked the looks better on the Shrockworks. Also the quality/delivery/communication was great.

Not a fan of that bumper, the fact that they didn't box a few of the corners just makes it look...unfinished, and the fact that it doesn't come out wider than the fenders means you're not getting much protection.

The other aspect i need to consider is i was wanting to add a .5-1" body lift to help clear 35 12.50's. Perlfrybilt basicly told me it may or may not work id have to try. And they dont to any customizing/modifications to their bumpers. Shrockworks told me no problem they could change there cad program could customize it for a body lift. At no charge

I dont know how much adjustment is availible with the pelfrybilt but i doubt its 1".

I don't like the looks of the Pelfrey or Metal Tech bumpers. I like my Demello bumper. It's a bit more lower profile than the SW, and lighter. I got it during a sale, so it wasn't too crazy expensive either.

If I were to get anything other than the Demello it would've been an Addicted Off-road or a 4x4labs.

I voted Shrockworks. Have their bumpers and sliders and they're top notch stuff. Love the idea of a heavy duty steel bumper to ram through stuff if needed.

I have a aluminim Pelfreybilt bomper in route to my coater now. My wife and I were thinking doing a matching silver to our 2016 SR5 but now leaning towards matte black. I will let you guys know what I think when I get it mounted
