The TRD S/C VS URD S/C

Hey guys! First, I'm looking for someone who has installed the TRD FJ supercharger on their 4runner who I can talk to about the install, how much did you have to change the hood setup?

Also, what discernible differences are there from the URD supercharger (made for 4runner) and the TRD supercharger, made for the FJ, which will fit on the 4runner, with some modding.

Just get the URD for the simple fact it was made for the 4runner. I can go more in-depth roots vs configural but that one fact alone should be enough. Fyi unless you plan on porting the TRD and building the engine the TRD will not make the power of the URD.

nope but it's no different than an fj/taco install, all you need is the fj fit kit and a standalone.

My vote goes to the URD meaning, by the looks of it, the work is done for you. There was never a done-for-you fit-kit for the 4Runner. I'm curious what exhaust URD used in its testing (unless it's been posted somewhere on here -- sorry). If it was stock, then I'm just about THIS close to firing up the line-of-credit. Many times I've posted on here about how crappy the Gibson system made my 'Runner sound. I like how it sounds stock. The only thing I'd do is enlarge that squished area in the Y-pipe. Widen it so it'll have the equivalent cross-section of the round pipes.

If nothing else you'll get better customer support from URD than from Toyota.
I wheel with one of the owners occasionally and he's very helpful.

Might want to do some research on the URD kit before u buy.. I've done some googling in the past and it kinda looks like gadget (URD) isn't in business anymore, or at least is MIA. Which would scare me because id want some support if something went wrong.. Just food for thought

I do not know where you got info, but it is incorrect. Gadget still sales the URD superchargers.
