Pics do work now. I have always liked the design of the Volant and the fact it comes in a box vs open air cone filter adds to the appeal to me on a 4x4 as well. The MAF sensor housing is kinda halfass on such a nice intake but good to hear an honest review. If I was shopping for an intake I'd probably shoot for the Volant as well.

I ended up going with the Cooper S/T Maxx in 285/75/R16. First impression is very nice. Paired with the Procomp 7069, the wheels and tires seem to fit and tuck perfectly.

I got home from Discount Tire, and as soon as I got out I heard a loud hissing noise. It was one of my Duratracs...Talk about good timing huh?

I wasn't planning on putting the new wheels and tires on just yet, but I didn't have much of a choice except maybe trying a plug in the Duratrac. There was a nail right in the middle of the tread.

Best part? THEY CLEAR THE TUNDRA BRAKES! Goodbye wheel spacers.

I went back to the thing I had previously found and drove on it again to celebrate.

Passenger side wheel, with room to go. I think it will actually clear the fender.

The thing wanted to role when I drove over it. My tires weren't aired down at all so I'm sure that was part of it.

I got them from a website called Suspension Lift Kits, Leveling Kits and Accessories | Jack-It, The Suspension Experts (I promise it's an offroad website).

They were on sale at the time. They are the procomp 7069 alloy wheels.

Swapped out my fuel filter today. For having over 180k miles on it I was pleasantly surprised by the little amount of stuff in the filter. Either the filter wasn't doing its job (doubt it), or the gas here isn't that bad.

Tundra 231mm Brake Upgrade

Were you running this with the stock wheels in your pictures (split 3-spokes)? If so did you grind the wheels down?

I was not. They would not fit over the brakes, and I personally don't feel comfortable grinding the wheels or caliper. Too crucial of parts of throw off balance or weaken, even if it is just a small amount of grinding. That's just my opinion though, and I know others have done it without any issues. I think with a wheel spacer as small as 1/4" the split three would clear these brakes though, which seems like a better trade off than taking a grinder to the wheels/brakes.
