Thieves are getting smarter!!!

So I woke up last friday, got dressed to leave and tried unlocking the truck to get in, but there was no power. I look inside and see my dash ripped apart. Walk around to drivers side and see my rear door wing window shattered. I take a better look at the truck and see a hold in the hood. Someone cut a hole in my hood to disconnect the battery, disabling the alarm system. WTF!!!:redbrick: Took my $1100 nav/dvd/bluetooth/ipod player along with the ipod, my raybans, and several other little things out of the center console and glove. Here are some pictures. Keep an eye on your truck, these bas****s are getting smart.

Wow dude, sorry that happened to you. I'd be raging if that happened to me.

I park in the alley behind my apartment building, kind of inner city and I'm considering buying not only a Viper Alarm with all the bells and whistles but also security film for the windows, apparently it makes the windows much harder to smash, making it more likely the theif would give up.

an alarm with a back up power supply looks like a good idea now.

Definitely getting an aftermarket alarm with backup power now. And believe me, I was raging! Made me sick to my stomach seeing my baby all cut up :sobbing:

And all this happened in my driveway, 5 days after moving in our new home, in a "decent" part of town. They even unscrewed the lightbulb on the side of the house they were doing this. F-ing punks!

Wow, those must have been some career criminals, They must have researched the battery location on 4th gens, or they also own a 4th Gen........makes you think about posting all of your goodies online, it's like a menu for crafty criminals.

I hate to see what happened to you. You work hard to have some nice things in your life and some scumbag just takes them away. Hopefully whoever did this will get what's coming to them.

I agree that the thief definitely knew exactly what he/they were doing. There is no such thing as a totally theft proof vehicle. It does seem that the best course of security is to just make it as inconvenient to break into as possible and hope that they go away.

Good luck with the repairs.

This is why we can't have nice things. The only high tech stuff in my truck is my scion radio.

Definitely some career criminals...not some punk teens. With these guys not much you can do to defend against that...wow.

And here i was feeling bad about getting my center caps stolen last friday, what they did to your 4Runner is just plain old sucks. It honestly hurts to look at the hole in your hood and that torn apart dash... sorry bro

Lance: They should be ******* killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution.
Vincent: Boy, I wish I could've caught him doing it. I'd have given anything to catch that ********* doing it. It'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it.
Lance: What a f****r!
Vincent: What's more chicken$*!@ than ****ing with a man's automobile? I mean, don't **** with another man's vehicle.
Lance: You don't do it.
Vincent: It's just against the rules.

Dude, that sucks, but it reminded me of this quote, so I had to post it

Woah, that really sucks! Sorry to hear about that.

That looks like an SR5 with the Sport hood, no? Do you still have the stock hood?

Oh hell to the mother **** no! Def some career criminals. If I would have caught them, this would be the following punishment: :whipping2 :uzi::gun4::uzi::uzi::uzi::uzi::uzi::uzi::uzi: then let the cops have them. That sucks bro, sorry that happened.

Oh and dude, if they did this they could be a member of this forum to get directions on how to get the center console out. I would keep a VERY VERY close eye on it, and look for the items that were stolen on eBay and craigslist, if you see it tell them you want to buy it, then get there a **** them up! Then get them a lift to the nearest PD.

That sucks. I've had a truck stolen before, at least you have something left. I have since moved and do not even lock the vehicles most of the time. Kinda diggin my new home and small town now. Those gadgets in there are just crime attraction in my opinion.
FYI - Thieves are far from smart.

Wow, that's horrible. Sorry to hear man.

Hope they get caught and beat accordingly, and insurance fixes you up good as new again.
