Don't have that in my 2013 SR5. Wish I did, it would be a good place to store the hitch ball mount.

If you have no sliding tray you have no storage compartment. That's why I built my original storage box- to make the cargo floor level.

That explains it, I don't have the sliding tray or 3rd row seats.

When the climate control knob is all the way left to coolest AC comes on automatically when you turn the blower knob to HI... not really sure I like that.

That is because the temp control knob is on "Max A/C" when at the far left position. It does not matter where the blower knob is at as long as it is on. It will always engage the A/C if the temp knob is at the far left position.

Just found out. It is impossible to secure all-weather mats on top of carpet ones due to new ancore lock system. Safety, I know.

Hmm, I just messed with this on the way home, LOL while it was 13 degrees outside! SO it seems if the Temp knob is anywhere on the blue side the AC automagically comes on. Which I stand by my original comment, not sure I like that.

Coming from older LOL less advanced Toyotas I find this marked behaviour perplexing I didn't like the fact the AC ran in my Gen3 when the defroster was on. I realize it was to dehumidify the cabin air but fact of the matter is you don't always want it dehumidifying the air when you are blasting heat at the windshield.

Yeah good luck with that, the company I work for is located just out side of Dallas by Mockingbird. They are all working from home tomorrow. Weather gets cold there and no one drives i hear. crashes all over the place.

Gotta say, it works. Had about 1/8" of ice on the windshield when I came out of the office this evening and took less than 5 minutes to melt it away. The heated mirrors also work well, melting of the same amount of ice even quicker.

The rear window defrost switch (next to the climate region selector) should also do your mirrors, should have two images on the button one is the rear window the other is a mirror, ie if you have heated mirrors that is.

but if you notice if it is on full heat, it will still put out full heat, just minus the moisture in the air. the moisture is what contributes to the fogging or removal of the fogging on the windows when it removes the moisture and just blows dried air.

Point is the thing comes on without you turning it on even if you just want not hot outside air. It just seems a bit too "Apple" let-me-do-it-all-for-you-cause-we-knows-whats-best, thats all *shrug*

If you think that tiny convenience features is too "Apple" like for your taste, wait till you see how the VCS/TCS/ABS likes to take over driving for you at the worst possible moment because the computer thinks it can control the gas and brake better, lol.

I think I've said this before but unfortunately, we are living in a world where the gas pedal no longer means go, and the brake pedal no longer means stop. It won't be long before they just drive themselves because they know better than us!

Now out of curiosity, why would you want to blow air to the windshield if you're not trying to defog it? Do you drive like this?

I think the majority of the people use that function to defog the window, so I guess Toyota figured they'd just make it easier for some of us? Can't please everyone I guess

I'm a fan of the heated sideview mirrors. I use them to evaporate the mist that gets on them from the Seattle drizzle in the mornings on my way to work. Makes driving in the predawn hours (which is before 8am in the peak of winter) a lot safer because I'm not dealing with all kinds of glare from headlights being refracted in the moisture when I look to change lanes.
