Thinking about a Trail...

Hey all-
Had an 01 SR5 but got rid of it once rust took over my chrome bumpers and l needed a daily driver for a 30+ mile commute. I'm now looking at a '12 4Runner Trail edition with roughly 25k on it. I think the 'sticker' is around $31k. Loaded right up with nav and roof, all the goods. I'm thinking of Katzkin leather seat replacements and some decent AT tires. Anyone have any surface mods they can recommend for a Trail? Any luck with headlight upgrades or stuff like that? The Trail is a few hundred miles away but being one of a kind I'm willing to make the trip!

Seems like a pretty good deal if this is the one your looking at...The only thing I would check when looking at it is to see if the bottom is all rusted out. I found one down here that was similarly a good deal and turned out it was all rusty. In NY that may not be abnormal but I was concerned here in GA so I opted to wait for another to come around.

You can see in my signature what I have done to my '13 so far, nothing too complex but these mods were quick and easy. Hope it works out for you!!

That's the one! Don't imagine it'll be too rusty coming from Maryland. Can't see your signature because I'm using tapatalk app. Will check using PC later.

That sounds about right. I bought one that looks exactly like that late last year. It's a '13, and it had 10k miles, and I paid about $34k. I haven't seen another one even close to that since. I'd say jump on it.

I actually live a couple miles from this dealer and looked this trail up on cars.com, you can see the free car fax report on there. Looks like this vehicle was purchased in NJ but im not sure how Jerrys acquired it. Also, no real service records… the car fax should have some records unless the owner did all maintenance themselves.

Cant think of any mods that stick out...:pound:

I use mine for a commuter vehicle..cant think of anything more I'd rather be in....and the price seems fair, but offer them 29....good luck!

Isn't $31K a little steep considering the 2014's are around $33K? And what with the new TRD Pro coming out... any interest in that?

If you use your phone for a GPS, please make sure you charge it before heading out to the dealer.

Do yourself a favor and look up this dealer on Yelp.. just test drove this car yesterday. Had tires that would soon need replacing, undocumented service history, and was purchased in NJ in 2012 (Sandy?).. GL with the search! I am in the market for my 4runner, my 1st and am too considering a trail edition.
