Thinking for picking up a 4Runner

Total newb here.
I am seriously thinking about picking up a 4th generation model 4Runner.
Short Term Usage would be daily driver, with plans to eventually do light offroad, and possibly mild mods.

Local Toyo dealer has a Certified 2008 model with v8 in stock.
It has approx 73K miles on it.
They are asking around 22k for it.
Opinions?

Is it a white sr5? I'm pretty sure I test drove that car a month ago. I ended up with a 06 limited v8 4x4 with 90k miles for over $4k less from carmax. Plus they did the timing belt+water pump, which is some pricey maintenance that a v8 needs at 90k miles. I thought that dealer was asking too much so I didn't get that one. Plus I thought they were pretty shady when the salesman tried to tell me rough trade in was $20k, and it should be priced $24k+. They even tried to tell me that his manager thoug it was priced too low and would raise the price the next day if I didn't buy it then.


I bought mine as a daily driver/tow vehicle, and so far it rides nice and is getting decent mileage. It's got a pretty good turn radius for its size, so it's a nice daily driver.

I think that price is a bit high Vizguy.

I bought my 2008 SR5 V8 with only 21k mi a little over a year ago for 24,000. Depending on your driving plans you are pretty close to the timing belt/water pump replacement which will run you several hundred or more depending on where you get it done.

Supply and demand not withstanding, you should be able to do better by a couple thousand anyway. Make an offer and be prepared to walk out the door.

You're gonna love it when you get one but don't be impatient, there's plenty of them around.

The usual practice for a mechanic doing the work is to place a small sticker noting the fact that the belt was replaced and the mileage. Commonly placed on the fan housing or other prominent place in engine compartment.
 
Beach, yes it is the white SR5.
It caught my interest as it is Toyo certified, and having some warranty helps with the all important "wife acceptance factor."

At 73k miles there was no squeasks, rattles, nothing.
It rode and felt like it was still new.
Very impressed with the build quality,
but in this audience I guess I am preaching to the choir.
