Thinking of picking up a 2014.

The only (currently available) modification that will materially increase acceleration are 4.56 Nitro gears.

Now that's not true lol. I can drop his 0-60 time by a full second without spending a dime! Strip the interior, throw out all seats and spare tire, puts some 225/75/17's on there and BOOM! It's a rocket!

Your best bet might be to get an SR5 like you were planning and replace the shocks with some Bilstein 5100's all around. It would help out (not eliminate) with the nose dive and you can level it out with the adjustable C-collar while still using the stock springs. It would only be a $400 upgrade and you wouldn't have to make that next jump to a TE if you didn't really want to spend the extra dough.

Does the premium have taller seatbacks?

Edit. Doesn't look like it.

I like the overhead console. Not digging the pleather. I like cloth.

Premium no go. Sunroof eats all my headroom. Shame.. I did like the pleather. And the seats seemed more comfy
.

Just pending trying a trail... Selling my other cars.

Fairly excited.

I'm super appreciative for all the help. I'm now able to make a much, much more informed decision.

All right... please don't kill me for this stupid question but...

I think I'm 90% sure I'm going for a Trail. The wife signed off. White or red. Hopefully white.

However, the 4wd control is different than the SR5.
The SR5 has a dial, and the trail has a stick...

I did some research, and the only difference I can (understand at least) is the Trail has KDSS and a locking rear diff.

Why the difference in the control? Talk to me like I'm an idiot child.

To give it a more offroad feel? That would be my guess... SR5 had the stick until model year '13 I believe...

Yep they both control the ADD just one with a dial and one with a stick. The TE also has more controls for off road and the KDSS is the biggie there. I am much more appreciative of the KDSS on the road though. I live in curvy road country and KDSS is performs very good.

Sorry one more.

Both kdss trail and sr5 i drove... I felt like the truck leaned a little to the pass side. Like i was driving on a slope.

Is that normal?

There's a whole thread about the kdss passenger side lean. My 14 tep has it as well. It is normal with kdss, but I also remember my 08 sr5 leaning as well.
