My factory radio is not working anymore and I need to change it out. I am all about oem stuff and would like to put one back in, but would like to have a more up to date one (that does not have a tape player) with aux button. I have seen one on ebay for abou $120 model #86120-35401, but not sure if it is just plug and play with the old one. I would have to add the aux cable to the back so I could plug a device in since my 4R does not have one. Does anyone have any suggestions?

That one should work. I just bought a T1809 Scion head unit off ebay last week for about 20 bux more though...with the T1809 you get both AUX & ipod connectivity. I'm still waiting on the AUX cable to arrive before I install it though, so I can't really give you any info regarding it yet.

Got my AUX cable in today & got it installed in about 30 minutes. And half of that time consisted of having to splice 3 wires from the facorty harness to use with the new AUX cable so that my steering wheel controls would still work. So far, this thing is awesome! If you need any help finding anything, let me know. I can give you the part numbers & who to get in touch with to get all of the cables you would need to use the ipod & the AUX interface.

is this PnP on the 03 4runner as well? Also, what is needed for the ipod input? I didn't see a receptacle for it on the face plate.

From what I've read & understand, it is PnP for the '03s as well. To use the ipod input, you will need a cable that is numbered SC12235. You can find them on ebay for about $20. That cable is custom made & it plugs into the back of the head unit & then has an ipod connection on the other end that you can hide in your glove box or the small tray below your AC controls. The only other option would be to find all three parts to the scion ipod cable (from head unit to harness, from harness to center console, & from console to ipod).
