Field monitor and other various parts

New to the forum and new to yota's as I am a jeeper by heart, but I recently got stationed in Okinawa Japan and recently took possession of a 97 Hilux Surf and so far am very pleased with it.

That said I was looking around for some info on my new rig and fell apon this site.

After reading through some of the posts I figured I'd join the group and say Hello. Also since I will be on the island and in the country for 4 yrs I figured I'd offer my services to any of you looking for Jp specific equipment (ie the field monitor, rear hatch spoiler etc etc) that you all may want or have been looking for.

Hit me up for anything and I look forward to seeing you all on the forum down the road.

I just got my fmu recently. I dont have a sunroof so I got one without the sunroof controls. It doesnt have those two wires. I was really hoping that it does have an inclinometer though)))

what sunroof controls???

You know, the button that opens your sunroof. Since I don't have a factory sunroof, I got the fmu that only has the map lights. Just saying that those two wires have something to do with sunroof.

By the way. Any of you that have installed one of these did the led interior conversion? The fmu has two little bulbs in the back, I want to swap the to white leds, would that change color of the whole display? Or parts of it still be green?

It is. And I am. The guy is located in Charlotte. Gave him 50 to hold it for me, and I'm gonna give him the other 50 when I pick it up, hopefully next weekend.

Finally got it installed!) and the white leds do make it white!

I tried the white LEDs in mine, but I was trying to get rid of the green.. the green still lit up. I put blue LEDs in and now the entire thing is bright monochromatic blue. Looks great.

I want a front fender mirror and a field monitor!

If you actually want a fender mirror I can sell you mine. The previous owner installed a snorkel so that rendered the fender mirror pretty much useless.

When I drive the little car on the display sometimes flashes, does anybody else get that? I think its when I drive fast, like 100km/h and over.

How is everyone dealing with the instal without a male-female harness tail....

Is there a way to purchase this wire tail?

Is there any wire connector that is compatible ?

I hate to ruin the plug if I ever do find one!
