Those with roof racks!

Traded in my 08' Tacoma TRD off-road 4x4 for a 2012 4runner SR5 4x4 Magnetic Grey. So far I love it, I do miss the 6 speed manual though... I had a 93' 4runner long ago so I'm happy to be back in a runner. I love modding my vehicles and can't wait to start on this one which brings me to a question. For those of you with racks whether it be Gobi, ARB or whatever and you have installed upper lights, how are you routing the wiring? I like clean mods that look OEM and the only thing I can think of is drilling into the roof which I'm not to fond of or routing them AFT to the rear lift gate and then forward but that's lots of overhead to disassemble. There's got to be a faster way

It's alot easier than it seems. There is space to fit the wires between the rear door and the body on both the left and right hand side right where the drip rail is. Some people run under the rail, but I had ran 3 10-12 gauge wires for my lights and there wasn't room underneath.

As previously mentioned, the Gobi is prewired so that they all terminate in the rear. My best advice, having just done this, is to start at the front and go under the door sills. They just pop right up and there is a channel running underneath it all already with a harness.

You can make your life a million times easier by running up to Home Depot and picking up a small Steel Fish for like $10. I ran my wires from under the hood at the relays, pulled the doors sills, ran it underneath those, then ran it up the rear quarter, halfway across the headliner, and out the grommet that's already there to the outside of the truck in all of about 20 minutes - without the steel fish, or doing some major renovations to the inside of my truck, I don't know if that would have even been possible.

Sheesh... Thanks Reata... Mine at least has pics that are in focus! LMAO. check my build thread below. OP.. No need to tear down the headliner. Very simple to run along the sills at the bottom of the doors.
