Ya you can tell it's a budget car in the quality/craftsmanship of some of the parts but it still beats most American built vehicles. Interior is decent, which is nice considering that's where I spend most of my time.
Thoughts on a new daily driver?

I agree, where money could have been spent, it wasn't' It's still a great car though, and I agree the interior is pleasant to look at. It's a simple car to work on. I was only ever displeased with the bumper cover getting chips in it from the road.
I recommend finding a TRD exhaust, your driving experience will change significantly.

My commute is currently 4 miles, so I'd love a jeep like that! I'm in the same boat with the wife driving the 4runner. I drive a 2009 xb, which has turned out to be a great car. 50k miles so far and not one issue.

And boy do I.....I need to take it easy on the right pedal. Took a drive up to LA yesterday and found myself doing 90mph like it was nothing (traffic was going that fast too, but I never do 90mph in the 4Runner)

Ya my bumper has a little road rash, but I don't think I'll be fixing it since it will see more curbs/road rash in the future. As for the TRD exhaust, it's on my list as well as the TRD CAI.
It's yours for $20,000 (I've spent over $40,000 on it).......DOH. Anyway, I'm happy with the Scion TC so far and hope I get 100k out of it without any problems.

Over the past few months looking for my 4runner, I almost bought a Lexus 350. You can find them in mint condition, ~2006 with 60,000 miles for $15,000. Just a thought.

Ya I was looking at them, the problem though is in SoCal almost all of them have 100,000 miles or are salvage titled. I bought a Scion TC last week for $14,000 (above).

I had the TRD Exh. and Injen CAI. Its a combo that will make you grin when you hear it. There is a bit of whistle that exists (stock airbox too, just amplified by the CAI) that may get a little tiring over time, but mostly in the rpm ranges you hear it at now.
(and you should have no problem getting to 100kmi, its a Toyota!)
