I'm curious if anyone else is running the moog LBJ

Moog is garbage. They sold out 5+ years ago and while you might get something decent once in a while (unlikely), most of the time it is the same as the cheapest auto zone crap.

IIRC, OEM LCAs are about $350, with brand new LBJs and bushings. If you value your time at all, I doubt you'll come out ahead any other way.

By the pictures it appears to me that it's been disassembled at least one time and probably disassembled incorrectly using the incorrect tools and the boots were torn. I would not blame Toyota that's just not a normal wear item the boots will last a very very long time if not mangled by a sloppy removal or install.

So what you're saying is I should buy TC lowers and just swap everything out for LT?

It looks like an install issue because of the damage to the boots.
sometimes guys have their favorite tools, like BJ separators or pickleforks that will mess up a boot. Those tools are best not used unless the balljoint or TRE is going to be replaced.

for both boots to show wear at the same time? I wouldn't rule out a wildman with a pickle fork.

The torn boots. I've had my front end apart many dozens of times and at over 160K miles, my TRE boots are still intact, I have replaced my LBJ boots once, due to my hamfistedness tearing them.
