Tigger's Build and Mis-Adventures

After a nice tour of the lake and a really long reroute by the GPS, I headed north for a drive up the coast. By the time I found a campsite it was 1:30 am and I was exhausted. Drove almost 600 miles that day.

In the morning I found that there was a small lake next to the campground, Hebo Lake. Explains the frogs I listened to all night.

The first pic is of a very windy coastline at dusk.

The next morning I headed into Tillamook to grab some beef jerky from the factory, then over to the Wilson for some fishing. This is where I learned to fly fish. Wasn't too lucky today and only caught one small one, but it was nice to be back out on the water again.

After fishing I met up with some friends I hadn't seen in years in Portland. It was good to catch up with them. Then off to my next camp spot near Sunset Falls in Washington. It was a really nice little campground with only about 12 sites. The negative was the little kids at the end of the loop that decided to answer the call of a bird at 7am at the top of their lungs. (I just don't understand parents sometimes)

Grabbed a couple of pics of the falls after a short hike. The water was so clear. You could see rocks at the bottom of the pool which was about 12-14 ft deep.

How's the iKamper Hardtop RTT working out?

Pretty good. I found that I don't have to deploy the shelf for the extra room so that saves some time and makes the mattress extra thick. Not sure how well it would work if it's windy though, with all the extra material hanging down.

Getting faster at closing it up each time I use it. And oddly enough, my gas mileage has gone up with it on. Could be the lower elevation or the slower speeds in the mountains, but so far I have averaged 17.7 at 1500 miles. I normally get 15 going back and forth to work which is 11 miles each way, 10 miles of highway.

Stopped by the Kootenai River to grab a poser shot. THis is a really beautiful river running along the upper portion of Western Montana.

Made it to Glacier National Park on Sunday the 3rd. Although the park was absolutely gorgeous, I couldn't wait to get out of there. It was so crowded. My timing was really off as I had planned on getting there before the holiday weekend. But the good fishing on the Owyhee delayed me a few days.

Saw this bridge as I was driving down the highway. Don't remember the town. Took about 45 minutes to figure out where the spot was and hike there to snap the pic.

I had to give up on the trip at this point. Was not feeling well at all and decided to hightail it home. Drove from Spokane Valley to Missoula through the park on Sunday. Then left Missoula on Monday and headed down the Bitterroot Valley then straight on to Vegas. About 15 hours of driving that last day, 951 miles. I was beat.

Stopped for a few pics on the drive from East Glacier to Missoula. Found a beautiful valley with snow capped mountains in the background.

Thanks. It was my first time there. Wish I would have gone through before the 4th of July weekend. It was just way too crowded.
I love that whole area. Hope to move there someday.

Yep have a whole lot of friends from high school (Clark 68') move up there if not full time then fall & summer ! Still plenty of good property up there !

Nice build sir! Love all the pics from your adventures as well; I just added Glacier National Park to my list of "places to go"! :thumb:

To close out this chapter, the 4Runner has been sold. I replaced it with an RX-450h but found the seats unbearable after a couple hours so ended up going a completely different direction.

I sat in a lot of vehicles before I found something comfortable. I picked up a 2106 ES350 in Nebula Grey but really wanted Blue so did a color change with a Satin wrap.

Maybe someday I will get back into an SUV but for now, these old bones enjoy the comfort of this sedan.

Can't go wrong with a Lexus. We picked up an RX450H back during the summer. All the creature comforts plus more!

I guess I'm the only T4R now with those sick decals me sold me almost 2 years ago!
