Tilt Wheel Adjustment Down Further -

Anybody know a way to adjust the steering wheel where it is perpendicular to the floor board. I am used to my Yukon and just cannot seem to get comfortable. Is there a manual over ride? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I can adjust it but it does move far enough down.

Thanks

Tried that but I am 6'4 and then I sit too tall. My Range Rover tech was able to adjust my HSE and looking for the same on the 4Runner.

Somebody has to know of a way.. Raising to $200 for successful information on how to lower the steering wheel more than factory....... Will send via PayPal of cash. There has to be a tech out there that will research this.

Thanks

No way to simply adjust it. If you are serious then you should take your $200.00 to a shop and let them see if anything could be shimmed to completely lower the column.

If you look through the repair manual, it looks like the tilt mechanism comes as a unit, built in one piece with the top end steering column. (Steering column comes in multiple sections).

The manual gives instructions of how to remove/reinstall the whole steering column. Through all those instructions/adjustments etc, it never mentions the tilt wheel mechanism by itself. To that end, I am going to guess, no adjustment. It is what it is. Now, unless one tears out the lower dash board, Knee air bag, (and lord know what else) then examines that whole steering mechanism, as show below, to see if any modifications can be done, not sure your going to get an answer.....sorry bud. Be safe.
