Timing belt maintenance... Is that an absolute must? or is it just good practice.

Check out Camelback Toyota for parts. I got the timing belt, drive belt, water pump, thermostat, and FIPG shipped for under $250.

4runner is going in for the timingbelt/waterpump job tomorrow. $788 with tax from a reputable shop in my area. I shopped around and had quotes from 1400 to 850. After this.. Its time to get bit by the mod bug and start that process

A lift is absolutely in my future. When I bought the truck this past September, the dealer installed Brand New goodyear tripletreads. Great tire by the way.

As soon as those are ready to be replaced which doesnt seem likes it any time soon those things havent worn at all. Ill be talking 3" Lift and duratracs probably.

Also to take into consideration.. I live on Longisland, and since hurricane sandy, word is all the beaches are shut for the summer as of now.. so lifting it to run up and down the longisland expressway in traffic isnt a priority.

This is where I wish I would have went with the V6...

I used to get that thought as well… but after this forum start getting too many threads about HG failure on V6 I do not get that notion any longer...

I cannot believe Toyota has not announced campaign regarding this... they have done it with 3.0 and first year of 3.4 V6 models…
