So does the aircabman kit include that bolt?
timing belt replacement costs?

With the torque that bolt is under it's in the same league as a head bolt (or above) and we know we never reuse headbolts because of stretching.
I thought about reusing mine but just the thought of that thing possibly breaking off in the crankshaft and the nightmare that could turn into was enough to convince me to drop the $8 or whatever it cost.
My gut says yeah, probably okay reusing it, but man if it goes south you got a real mess on your hands. And with my luck, it would have snapped off flush with the end of the crankshaft somehow.

I got my Aisin T-belt kit with waterpump from Amazon for $152, T-belt tensioner $46 (they didn't have the kit with tensioner in stock had to piece meal), free shipping, antifreeze from local Napa $8, thermostat from Napa $13 + One day of labor = satisfaction for another 100,000 miles. Borrowed a crankshaft holder from a friend, used a puller to break loose the crankshaft pulley.
And yes, I also reused my crankshaft bolt. Out of all my years of racing 1/4 mile with chevrolets and fords, not once did I need to replace a crank bolt when rebuilding the engines.

OP if you do end up doing the TB/WP by yourself, just go here and buy this kit. It uses all OEM Toyota parts and has everything you need to replace when doing the TB and WP.

I followed the advice of the guys on here and got the complete kit with water pump with OEM parts from aircabinguy on ebay here

should be here thurs and getting it installed by mechanic fri or sat..i am expecting to pay 300-400$ so with the kit at 310$ i hope to pay 610-710$ total...
also getting my OME 880/906 on as well! cant wait

I'm also planning to replace my timing belt on my 1998 Toyota 4runner. I just recently replace my timing belt for Nissan 300ZX 1995 and purchase the timing belt kit from RockAuto.com
As for my 1998 Toyota 4runner, it cost $144.79. It doesn't include fan belts and thermostat but if you include the total cost, it is less than $200.00

No. I just checked the Ebay ad. However - it is my opinion from looking at that listing that is a smoking deal for what you are getting.
I could dig out receipts (not going to) but take it on faith I paid quite a bit more than than that for the same parts at my Toy Dealer.
"The bolt" is your call brother. If you have read my opinions on it you know where I stand - I think it's crazy to do all that work and skimp on replacing one stressed bolt - but that is just my opinion.

Crank pulley bolt: #90119-16006. IMHO I'd also do the crank oil seal. With the Lisle seal puller it takes all of 10 minutes to replace. Part #90311-40022.
Guys i just had to get a engine for my 1997 limited becaue of head gasket. i decided to go with a JDM engine. I picked it up yesterday and I have a mechanic friend that is going to do the swap for 800-1000.
These engines are SUPPOSED to have less than 60k miles on them, do you all think it is worth while to do the TB/WP while its out of the truck?
My current engine has 143k miles on it and I did the TB/WP as preventative maintenance at 65k miles.
I've seen people talking about the OEM kit on ebay for $310 and others talking baout the amazon kit for $190. Then there is Rock Auto with a price around 150 i think it was.
I'd really appreciate some advice on which kit is the best option for this JDM engine if you all think it is worth it to do it while out of the truck.
Anything else i should be looking into replacing while its out of the truck?
I'll be putting Amsoil in as i have always done with every fluid in my truck.

I'd say you might as well. Then you don't have to worry about it for a while. Without looking at the kits themselves (been a while), I'd say the difference is in what's included. Some kits include all of the accessory belts as well as other misc parts.
One thing you might consider is a set of TRD headers. Probably the best boost in power without a SC or Turbo and the main cost and PITA of them is the installation.
Thanks! I've thought about the headers, but i just put a CAT back system on and its just a Walker, nothing high performance, and i don't have the open air filter, so i thought i wouldn't see much improvement for the high cost of the headers.

The reason why I say it is because the exhaust and intake can be easily changed after the fact at any point. Whereas the headers are a pain.

I agree. It's a PITA to get to everything so in my opinion it's a no-brainer to do the water pump and TB while the motor is on the stand.
Hell, I would probably replace the valve cover gaskets too. You won't have to touch anything for 90K miles minimum after this hopefully.
