Tint, inside or outside of the glass

he gave me a lifetime warranty though, so it must be some good stuff. the tint guy is in the business for 10 yrs.

Don't be too swayed by a "lifetime warranty". The guy may have been in business for 10 years, but may be going out of business soon applying tint on the outside! Surely he just joking? Good luck!

That show on Speed, Unique Whips, or something like that. They install the tint on the outside. These are super $$$ cars they're installing tint on too.

Nope, Chico is the tinter on that show and he works for Unique Autosports. He has never tinted a car on the outside. When you tint windows you "cut to size" on the outside and that maybe what your seeing. Next time you see him tint watch which side he blowdry's.

I've never heard of outside tint. From a quick browse at tintdude.com there are exterior tints, I found exterior applications for buildings only.

yeah, there are exterior applications.. but the only exterior app i've seen is security film. and maybe some film used for blackout. and that's for commercial apps.. i've only seen residential and auto to be interior apps. but you can apply security film to the outside, and it should be ok against the elements.. no guarantees though.

Looks nice? Notice any difference in radio reception? Metallic tint on the rear cargo windows can interfere with the antennae. It did not bother my last car. I only had the fronts tinted on the 4Runner.

for some reason, i expected to see the two fronts tinted.. not the double app.. but it does look nice, at least from not a closeup.. but what can i say, i've got a tinter's eye nowadays..

If nothing else, wouldn't tint on the outside ruin the benefit of having the hydropholic glass?

i observed and reception on radio is about the same.
