5% llumar all around 30% front windshield

i really like it just because you dont have people looking at you, they may look at the truck, but they cant see.. oh, and for the police on the board, if i get pulled over, i always roll down all of my windows immediately before i pull off and keep my hands on the wheel, i try... kinda hard to see when its raining and your driving at night through a small muddy trail though... hit a tree that way once, oh well, arb saved the day

Well i got the 20% installed on the front two today and i think it looks great. Great job matching the factory. I do agree with some others that from the inside the fresh tint looks slightly darker but from the outside it looks perfectly matched. I'll post pics after I wash my baby. I feel like i need to wash it more often now that I have tint, it just doesn't look right to have it dirty.

this is very true also, i do the same thing, roll down my front 2 windows and turn on all the inside lights to light up my interior so they can see everything in my car. I always get comments from cops on my back windows though about wow those are dark, even with a police spotlight they said they still couldnt see if i was hiding stuff or moving anything around. I was proud of my tint!!

in CA u can go as dark as u want except front widows and windshield and all u get is a fix it ticket from 50 but if u got friends that will sing it off ur good to go

Since I didn't see any Illinois responses, it is illegal to tint the front windows in Illinois. They will stop you and make you peel it off right there or write you and make you go to court and then make you peel it off. They did that to me in my old 1985 Supra

I put 20% up front in Mass and I have never had an issue with inspections or police. It matches the back really well my wife likes it because she can watch people and they have no idea. She thought it was too dark until one day we were parked next a car where this kid was picking his nose and popping his zits and he had no idea she was there. The look on his face was pricless.

I paid $80 and have a lifetime warranty. That is the part when you need to go to a shop that will be around for a while. I had a couple offers from "nomad" installers that went from shop to shop doing it, but who do you call if there is an issue? Spend the little extra and get it done right. Bad tint looks REALLY bad!

I just bought an 07 SR5 with 35% tint on the fronts (in NC). The dealer had put it on, but they didn't charge me for it since the salesman did not know it had the tint until we agreed on the price. I would prefer it to be a little darker (20% or so), but suprisingly at night it provides pretty good privacy. During the daytime it cuts the sun a little but you could mistake it for no tint easily.

im not sure what % is illegal over here but all of my windows are tinted almost completely black and i havent been stopped for it (yet). I heard it is a really expensive citation if u get caught though. As long as u dont do anything stupid, u should be fine.

For Illinios, I don't think its illegal to tint your front windows. Our old car had it, because it was from CA, and I have friends and family that have the fronts tinted. Plus there is a tint shop down the street that has a good business base. I plan on getting the fronts matched to the rears. Plus I'll prolly be moving to Vegas in a few years.

It differs from different divisions of law enforcement who hit you for tint fix it tickets here in CA.

I know of a a bunch of people who got cited for tint by SF State University and UCSF Police.

But have not seen any from the City or CHP as of yet.

you can get cited for having tint on the front windows, it is just a matter of when you "get lucky" to be pulled over for that. i know because i did get cited for it. it is one of those violation they can pulled you over if they (law enforcement) feel like it.

the fine is $10 after correction (tint uninstalled), and somewhere around $145 if not corrected.

I have 5% on the rears and 15% on the fronts and if you get pulled over have both driver's side windows down and license,insurance and registration in hand and the cop probably won't notice your "illegal" tint job.

My Eclipse was well past the legal limit too and that car got me pulled over quite a bit and my tint was never mentioned.

So what % matches the privacy glass on the back windows, 20%?

27% here is legal, but if 20% matches better I'll go with it. Just bought a bug shield and AW mats...tint is next.

I had it done by Ziebart on Rt. 9 in Shrewsbury. The guys there are great. This is the second tint job they have done for me. The lifetime warranty is always a major plus!

Are you actually in Boston?

Yeah I'm in W. Roxbury. So the 20% matches the backs? I'm putting on 35% film temporarily to see how I like it. If I decide to keep it, it sounds as though these guys are the way to go.

I know I am not in any of those states, But legal limit in Florida is 35% for front windows 20% for rear. I have less than 5 in the rear (5% percent tint over factory) and supposedly 15% (never heard of 15 but thats what the installer said it is... does seem darker than 20) on the front. I got pulled over for speeding and also got 2 other tickets, but the cop never mentioned the tint.

Anything darker than 35% (20%, 5%, etc.) is really going to make it hard for you to see at night, especially in areas that do not have street lights. I work the 2nd shift and on my old car I had 35% on the front windows and even that made it hard to see at night.

Yeah the 20% should be an exact match...but you have to keep in mind that with the windshield and moonroof the front will look a little lighter. But the guy at the store actually had the tester that fits over the window to measure the % and the backs were 20%.
