Nice, my buddy and I are gonna go shopping around for this stuff cuz we're bored. I got him wanting to do it to his Red '03 Tib. So hopefully he'll do it and I can see how it's done

It sprays on the outside of the lense. You spary multiple light coats and stop when you think its dark enough. I did 5 coats. Its not completely black like the pics show. In the sun, you can see a slight red reflection coming through. Each coat gets a bit darker. I think one more coat and mine would have been completely black.

How much time elapsed between each coat? And how long did you let them sit before you put them back on?

I let them sit for about 5-10 mins between coats, and put them back in the truck after about 6 hours. I then left the truck in the garage over night to be sure. It says on the can, dries to handle in 3 hours... Fully cured in 24 hours. So I made sure not to take the truck out for that period. Just to be sure.

Just take your time and do light, even coats!!! Like a mist on each coat. I cant stress this enough. This s#it runs really easy. It's very thin. And dont tape the area off. Remove them from the car first, and lay them flat... because.......... IT WILL RUN!!!!!!!!! Be patient, you wont even see a difference on the first coat or second. Just be patient and consistant on the coverage.

Remember continuous, even, sweeping motions... And dont stop in the middle of a sweep. And definitly keep the can about 12-18 inches away from what your spraying, it makes a difference here.

Its so easy to do, but also easier to mess up. Just take your time and they will turn out good.

this might be a dumb question-
if you mess up, can you sand it off or something to get back to stock?

If you mess up, then you can use "brake Clean" to strip it off before it cures on. But be warned, the brake clean also removes the gloss on the lense. Then you almost have to re spray them unless you dont mind them lookin like shit.

No really, your taillight mod is fantastic and inexpensive too. It should be kept as a sticky or something. OR, maybe someone could start a forum for the really good inexpensive mods that people do. That would be a great forum. How do we suggest that to our moderator?

I dont know but thats a great idea.. I always try the cheap mods first. Since the slightest ones make big differences. And since I'm on a budget, they give me something to do.
