Yes they will just fine on your 08 and they will fit as long as you have 17" wheels...

If any difference at all, it would only be about 1 or 2 mph. Check with a GPS, but it won't throw it off by a large margin at all

As 4running said, the difference would be very slight. With 3rd gens, bumping up to a 70 sidewall actually makes the speedometer 100% accurate. They were off a little from the factory and bumping up to the larger size corrected.
Just to warn you, you may have the slightest (very minor and situation) rubbing depending on the tire you get. This usually only happens with more aggressive tread patterns (mud terrains and aggressive all terrains) and typically only when making tight turns up/down inclines. 95% of the tires will cause no issues.

And in the EXTREMELY unlikely event that you could not find your answer, the answer is yes, and as stated by [MENTION=53337]SCRunner12[/MENTION] , if you have 17" wheels.
If that were to happen, would wheel spacers (such as spidertrax) alleviate or worsen the problem? Where exactly would the rubbing likely occur?

wheel spacers will make it worse, rubbing would occur on the front bumper at its lowest point in the wheel well, as well as the mud flap area in the rear of the wheel well

Funny thing is, I wouldn't mind if I had to move the inner liner forward or even trim the front bumper some but I really don't want to loose the mud flaps. I know they are not "cool" but I believe they serve a useful purpose.

i actually trimmed mine so i could retain them when i upped the tire size, still rubs in reverse at full lock, but I'm hardly ever at full lock in reverse
That's what scares me because I just checked out your build thread and you have more lift then I plan on and are running a slightly less aggressive tire then I'm considering. You are running spacers which I'm on the fence on.
I thinking just FJ springs\5100's w/ the fronts set to .85 for around a 2/1 lift and Cooper AT3's with some FJ 6-spoke wheels that have a little less offset then the factory 4runner wheels

TBH, the rubbing is limited to only full lock in reverse. i trimmed my front fender/bumper as a precaution, and there is no way it would rub there, even stuffed. 265/70/17 and 255/75/17 fit stock, with no wheel spacers, but you'll find that with a 2/1 lift and upsized tires you're gonna wanna run wheel spacers, it changes the look completely. The trimming isn't that scary either because anything will cut through the bumper plastic and if you're patient you can have a clean smooth cut, and nobody but you will ever know you trimmed
