TBH, the rubbing is limited to only full lock in reverse. i trimmed my front fender/bumper as a precaution, and there is no way it would rub there, even stuffed. 265/70/17 and 255/75/17 fit stock, with no wheel spacers, but you'll find that with a 2/1 lift and upsized tires you're gonna wanna run wheel spacers, it changes the look completely. The trimming isn't that scary either because anything will cut through the bumper plastic and if you're patient you can have a clean smooth cut, and nobody but you will ever know you trimmed

Yeah, I'm not worried about trimmer the bumper at all. As for the spacers, I do like the look but A. I don't want to add to the clearance issues and B. I've read too many stories about people loosing a wheel after installing them. Granted is seems like those situations were probably caused by an improper installation but still.

This issue hits somewhat close to home because last year a person I knew was killed by a wheel/tire that came off another truck coming in the opposite direction. The tire hit his cab with enough force to crush the A pillar and cause major brain trauma which he died from a few days later. I would never want to be responsible for something like that and the legal implications are pretty scary too.

I can totally understand the point of view. if you really want to widen the stance it can always be done with new wheels too

That is the direction I would like to take but I'm having a hard time justifying the $800-$1000 price tag of new wheels.

Money no object, I'd probably already have a set (5) of these already ordered...

2/1 lift here actually. 0 offset wheels, 265/70/17 Toyo Open Country AT2's and loving it. I did have to trim a bit, but it's not a big deal.
