Tire Pressure Explained

I'm not an expert but I did learn a little watching this video: Four Common Questions About Tire Pressure, Answered

I start at the OEM tire pressure listed for any vehicle . then using chalk make a mark across the tire tread .. move vehicle maybe 100 ft on a nice smooth even pavement and see how the chalk is worn down.

most times front requires a little more pressure, rear a little less. with the sensors in the tires this may throw a tire pressure lite. but the tires will ALL wear evenly across the entire tread. I get 80K on my truck tires with tread all looking the same.

nitrogen is best for stable pressures with changes in temp. when the cold temps come I add air , when the heat returns I remove air..

when I tow I do add more pressure to the rear tires ...

changing sizes will require this method , larger sized tires will sit differently .
