Tire Pressure Monitor Defeat?

OK, I searched the forum and there is plenty on this in earlier T4Rs and other Toyotas, but not much on the 5th Gen.

I off road a lot and I have never had to deal with the TPMS before. When I leave the pavement, I almost always air down. Has anyone figured out where to install a switch to turn off the TPMS while aired down?

I don't think anything anyone has done that especially considering the number of people running with the light full time after swapping wheels and not moving the sensors over. Use a piece of black tapes if it bothers you that much. The way I look at it is when I'm off-road there will be additional lights on the dash with 4Lo and atrac anyway.

What I did was get a piece of PVC. Pipe from home depo and 2end caps,
Tap one end cap put a fitting in it with shrader valve drop all 4 tpms into pipe
Glue both caps on then fill pipe to 32 psi and mount under hood . No light

LOL that truly is the funniest way I have heard to circumvent a warning system!

I had this mod done on my 4th gen there's a write up in 4th gen section . I had a switch so I could turn on and off. I go to sand dunes and also swap out wheels and this mod worked great. I have not tried on the 5th gen yet but would really like to if anybody can help with wiring diagram . If I cannot find a way to turn off the light, I'm going to take all sensors and place them in the spare tire. Either by taping to inside rim or drilling 3 more holes and mounting them in.

This too has been done by some members on the fjcruiserforums.com site.
It works. It's not a stupid idea or mod if it works!
