tire pressure warning light

I've had my T4R for almost a year now, it seems like it's on almost all the time. When it's cold it's on until the ambient temp gets back up above 70 or so. I took it to Big O for an alignment a while ago and ever since the light NEVER turns off (even when it's 100 degrees and the tires are at the proper pressure). Did Big O screw something up? Am I supposed to have metal caps instead of plastic?

Don't forget to check your spare, it is often overlooked and the culprit w/low pressure. Also I believe too high of psi will set it off (not sure at what psi) .

As for the metal vs plastic valve stem caps, it doesn't matter.

It's either your spare or the shop damaged one of your TPMS sensors.

An alignment should not have any affect on TPMS. My money is on the spare unless one of your other 4 tires is low. You should be checking them regularly anyway. What do you have them at? Tire pressure changes 1 psi for every 10 degree temperature chnage.

Any time there is a TPMS issue, check the tire pressure first. We really need a TPMS sticky.

The system turns the light on if the pressure in any one of the tires drops below 27 PSI.

The valve stems came with metal caps from the factory. If you live in an area with road salt in the winter, you should switch them to plastic ones.

I skimmed the first post and initially didn't notice the OP only had an alignment done at the tire store. (Rather than balancing, new tires, etc).

With this being said, I almost guarantee it's the spare unless you have your tires inflated right at the stock 32psi or under and the temp is dropping them significantly when it gets cold.

I've checked and filled the tires numerous times...I'd have to agree it's the spare. I haven't checked it & I'd put money on the Big O staff didn't look at it.

I live in Colorado (no salt) but my Runner grew up on the east coast and got some exposure to salt...so no metal caps.
