Regardless of directional or non directional tires, I only rotate front & back.

Reason being, if I had a nail & then I rotated it, then I know where it is, if you cross rotate & 5 tire rotate, the conclusion will be all over the place.

Oil change every 3,000
Rotation every other oil change 6,000

And since the wheels are off, I clean the inside of the wheels, plus clean off the hub & mounting service.

If your wheels stick like my friend's M3, then you should apply some anti-seize.

If I had a nail, I would want to watch that tire very carefully, and maybe replace it as soon as possible. As for keeping track of it, as long as you mark each wheel with it's own ID number, it shouldn't be too difficult to keep track of any one tire. Besides, if you subscribe to the 5 tire rotation method, as I do, marking all five wheels is the only way to keep track of what you are doing each time you rotate.
